***************IS IT THE THYROID?****************
If you have the following symptoms, maybe you have hypothyroidism, even if your doctor has done tests and says you don't; you might just have sub-clinical Hypothyroidism - a condition in which the body lacks sufficient thyroid hormone.
maybe what they used to call "a touch of it". Some say a full half of the people who have it are not diagnosed with it. Oh! What to do- what to do?

IS THIS YOU?
(1)
Fatigued in the morning
Poor or cracked nails
Cold all the time
Dry skin
Coarse hair/hair loss
Depression
Constipation
Muscle/joint pains
Trouble losing weight
Chronic infections
Acne
Trouble with memory
High cholesterol
Severe PMS
Irregular periods
Low sex drive
Infertility
Excessive menopause symptoms
Ovarian cysts
Endometriosis
Gum disease
Eczema
Poor stamina

The main purpose of the Thyroid is to 'run the metabolism', so you can see how important it is for it to be efficient. Two of the main causes are a prior inflammation or autoimmune thyroiditis. basically treatment is a supplementation of the thyroid hormone or just getting the body well enough to maintain its own production. Pretty much they'll want you to continue taking these drugs indefinitely, so it doesn't recur.

There is a third form of thyroiditis called silent thyroiditis, doctors like to prescribe several drugs to 'regain' health, including beta blockers, surgery or Radioactive Iodine, just imagine you can read in bed without a bedside light, you can light your own way while you explore caves or you can hire out to stand on cliffs to direct sea traffic.

I think I'd rather try getting healthy with natural methods first....some supplements for it include
*Iodine *Selenium *Zinc *Vitamin D *Vitamin E *Antioxidants
*Essential Fats *Amino Acids

I'm taking Thyromine, it has Adrenal Powder from Bovine, ginger, Guglipid, Nori, Piper Longu, Thyroid Powder From Bovine, and L-Tyrosine. You can check out the website to see what each ingredient does. It starts at $39.95 for a month's supply.
I'm also still working to get rid of the diabetes so I'm taking:
CellPower™ because for one thing it does have lots of digestive enzymes in it, also it helps to balance the pH levels and is antibiotic, anti-viral-and anti-fungal AND IT PACKS THE CELLS WITH LIFE-GIVING OXYGEN, AND ENERGY. And:SELENIUMhelps immune system, fights infection and aids circulation
~MAGNESIUMhelps to relax you, aids stress and muscle relaxing
~CHROMIUMimproves insulin sensitivity, and helps lower blood sugar.
~ZINC especially to help you heal.
I also eat, one of the best fats for the Omega-3~6 balance and losing weight.
~coconut oil

And I am substantially benefiting from each and every method I recommend.

EXPLANATION OF GOD

"We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young - discovering happiness in your everyday life; laughing and finding humor each day; giving of yourself to others - so that way goodness may magically comes back to us; and DREAMING - for when you lose your dreams, you die."
"We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it! There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability.
The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets. The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets."

Funny Fluke
My dentistry patients are called and reminded the day before their scheduled appointments. During an office visit, one man was in an especially good humor and explained why. "My staff kids me about the high opinion I have of myself," he said. "Yesterday your receptionist left a message that had them in stitches."
He related the memo his secretary had handed him: "Your crown is ready."
~~~
Zip It!
My mother taught for 11 years at a day-care center. One winter afternoon she was trying to show a young boy how to zip up his coat. "The secret," Mom said, "is to get this piece of the zipper to fit in the other side before you try to zip it up."
After struggling with the zipper for several minutes, the boy sighed and said, "Why does it have to be a secret?"
...With Some Wit on the Side
Our manager at the restaurant where I worked was a much beloved, jovial man. But there was one subject you didn't dare discuss in front of him -- his height. Or, should I say, his lack of it. One day, he stormed through the door and announced angrily, "Someone just picked my pocket!" Most of my fellow waitresses and I were speechless, except for the one who blurted out, "How could anyone stoop so low?"
~~~
All Aboard!
In the 22-story office building where I worked, rush hours meant crowds of people waiting a long time for the three passenger elevators. One evening my boss was one of the throng relegated to the freight elevator.
When a fellow rider complained about having to take this mode of transportation, my boss replied philosophically, "Better freight than never!"

Comic Calling
My younger brother, I explained to a friend, had quite a temper as a boy. Our parents had tried extra love, attention and patience on him, with little success. Then, in the middle of one of his tantrums, they simply handed him a shovel, pointed to the backyard and instructed him to go out and dig and not come back until he had control of his anger.
"Apparently," I said, "the therapy worked, because he's turned out very nicely."
"What does he do for a living?" my friend asked.
"He builds in-ground swimming pools."

Sew in Stitches
Shortly after graduating from veterinary school, I rode with my mother in the Michigan Trail Riders' annual trek across state. Late one afternoon, I was summoned to look at a horse that had reared up and flipped over in his trailer. Fortunately the horse was not seriously injured, but some lacerations needed stitching.
As I worked, I heard my mother chatting with the perturbed owner. "Don't worry, sir," she said. "My daughter's a great vet. She'll fix your horse up just fine."
"That's good to hear," said the man. "How long has she been a vet?"
"A week," replied my mother, proudly. Then hastily she added, "But she's been embroidering since she was eight years old."

Down Under Droll
While I was working at a delicatessen in Sydney, Australia, a woman overheard my accent and asked if I was American. "Lovely!" she exclaimed when I told her that I was. "I've been looking for one of your lot. My son is living in the States with his American wife, and she sent me a recipe that calls for half-and-half. Could you tell me, luv, half of wot and half of wot?"

BILL GATES BUYS A HOUSE

Bill: "There are a few issues we need to discuss."

Contractor: "Ah, you have our basic support option. Calls are free for the first 90 days and $75 a call thereafter. Okay?"

Bill: "Uh, yeah... the first issue is the living room. We think its a little smaller than we anticipated."

Contractor: "Yeah. Some compromises were made to have it out by the release date."

Bill: "We won't be able to fit all our furniture in there."

Contractor: "Well, you have two options. You can purchase a new, larger living room; or you can use a Stacker."

Bill: "Stacker?"

Contractor: "Yeah, it allows you to fit twice as much furniture into the room. By stacking it, of course, you put the entertainment center on the couch... the chairs on the table... etc. You leave an empty spot, so when you want to use some furniture you can unstack what you need and then put it back when you're done."

Bill: "Uh... I dunno... issue two. The second issue is the light fixtures. The bulbs we brought with us from our old home won't fit. The threads run the wrong way."

Contractor: "Oh! That's easy. Those bulbs aren't plug and play. You'll have to upgrade to the new bulbs."

Bill: "And the electrical outlets? The holes are round, not rectangular. How do I fix that?"

Contractor: "Just uninstall and reinstall the electrical system."

Bill: "You're kidding!?"

Contractor: "Nope. Its the only way."

Bill: " Well... I have one last problem. Sometimes, when I have guests over, someone will flush the toilet and it won't stop. The water pressure drops so low that the showers don't work."
Contractor: "That's a resource leakage problem. One fixture is failing to terminate and is hogging the resources preventing access from other fixtures."
Bill: "And how do I fix that?"
Contractor: "Well, after each flush, you all need to exit the house, turn off the water at the street, turn it back on, reenter the house and then you can get back to work."
Bill: "That's the last straw. What kind of product are you selling me?"
Contractor: "Hey, nobody's making you buy it."
Bill: "And when will this be fixed?"
Contractor: "Oh, in your next house -- which will be ready to release sometime near the end of next year. It was due out this year, but we've had some delays..."

Country Preacher
An old country preacher had a teenage son, and it was getting time the boy should give some thought to choosing a profession.
Like many young men, the boy didn't really know what he wanted to do, and he didn't seem too concerned about it.
One day, while the boy was away at school, his father decided to try an experiment.
He went into the boy's room and placed on his study table four objects:
a Bible,
a silver dollar,
a bottle of whisky
and a Playboy magazine
'I'll just hide behind the door,' the old preacher said to himself, 'when he comes home from school this afternoon,
I'll see which object he picks up.
If it's the Bible, he's going to be a preacher like me and what a blessing that would be! If he picks up the dollar, he's going to be a businessman, and that would be okay, too. But if he picks up the bottle, he's going to be a no-good drunkard, and, Lord, what a shame that would be, and worst of all, if he picks up that magazine he's gonna be a skirt-chasin' bum.'
The old man waited anxiously, and soon heard his son's footsteps as he entered the house whistling and headed for his room.
The boy tossed his books on the bed, and as he turned to leave the room he spotted the objects on the table.
With curiosity in his eye, he walked over to inspect them.
Finally, he picked up the Bible and placed it under his arm.
He picked up the silver dollar and dropped it into his pocket.
He uncorked the bottle and took a big drink while he admired this month's Centerfold.
'Lord have mercy,' the old preacher disgustedly whispered, 'He's gonna run for Congress.''

HOW IS YOUR THYROID?

*******************HOW IS YOUR THYROID?************
(1)The thyroid gland is small and located in the region of the Adam's apple of the front of the neck. Thyroid hormones are important in regulating body energy, the body's use of other hormones and vitamins, and the growth and maturation of body tissues.

Two things that can go wrong are Hyperthyroidism, or having a too active thyroid or Hypothyroidism which is having too little hormone production.

Symptoms of hyperthyroidism are:
*Nervousness and irritability *Palpitations and tachycardia
*Heat intolerance or increased sweating *Tremor *Weight loss or gain
*Increase in appetite *Frequent bowel movements or diarrhea
*Lower leg swelling *Sudden paralysis *Shortness of breath with exertion
*Decreased menstrual flow *Impaired fertility *Sleep disturbances (including insomnia) *Changes in vision *Photophobia, or light sensitivity
*Eye irritation with excess tears *Diplopia, or double vision
*Exophthalmos, or forward protrusion of the eyeball

Therapy for hyperthyroidism is often radioactive iodine ablation or thyroidectomy.

Symptoms for Hypothyroidism include:
*Fatigue *Weakness *Intolerance to cold *Muscle aching and cramps
*Constipation *Weight gain or difficulty losing weight *Poor appetite
*Goiter (enlarged thyroid gland) *Dry, rough skin *Coarse hair or hair loss
*Eye and face swelling *Deeper and/or hoarse voice *Irregular or heavy menstrual periods *Depression *Memory loss *Slowed thinking and mental activity
*Increased blood cholesterol levels

Therapies for hypothyroidism include: Levothyroxine drugs or for alternative treatments: an adjustment in the diet to add iodine as in seafood. But too much Iodine can make a poorly functioning thyroid worse as well as some thyroid-blocking action from cabbage, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower which can exacerbate thyroid function if these otherwise highly nutritious foods are eaten in very high doses.

Of course all of these symptoms are pretty universal for may other conditions and a blood test for thyroid function is a good idea, many doctors contend themselves with a cursory palpating examination or the neck which just isn't enough at all. Many women, in particular find that correct diagnosis and therapy for either hypo- or hyper thyroidism is really a life-saver for them.

One outstanding Medical revolutionary by the name of Nan Fuchs M.D. says this:
(2)
One in 10 women in this country have been diagnosed with thyroid problems. Some endocrinologists believe that one in four women have an under active or overactive thyroid. One reason may be because our thyroid glands are twice as large as those in men, creating a greater need for iodine. When we're under stress, our thyroids become even larger and more active, causing us to need even more.
This recent epidemic of thyroid problems appears to be due to a decline in dietary iodine. In 1940, our typical American diet contained 500-800 micrograms of iodine. By 1995, that amount had dropped down to 135 micrograms. But insufficient iodine intake isn't the only reason for low iodine. Thyroid problems are also caused by two other factors: exposure to substances that interfere with iodine levels, and an increased exposure to harmful radioactive iodine.

But don't think that all iodine is the same. It's not. There are two forms: iodine 127 (safe, natural dietary iodine) and iodine 131 (a harmful radioactive by-product of nuclear energy). Your body absorbs and retains any kind of iodine, depositing most of it in your thyroid gland or breasts. If you're deficient in the safe form of iodine, you'll absorb more radioactive iodine 131. But if you have enough dietary iodine, you won't absorb as much of the radioactive kind. The good iodine blocks the harmful type. Seaweed provides the dietary iodine you need for better thyroid function, and protects you from the harmful effects of radioactive iodine.

All of us have been exposed to radioactive iodine. Since 1945, radioactive material has been released into the air from nuclear testing and nuclear power plants all over the world. The ordinary day-to-day operations of these nuclear plants put harmful radioactive iodine into our atmosphere. Since we can't avoid it, we need to block its absorption. This exposure to iodine 131 is very possibly the origin of the increased amount of thyroid disorders we're seeing today. The regular consumption of seaweed may restore your thyroid function. Interfering with Iodine
Anything that contains chlorine, fluoride, and bromine, like water, whether it's used internally or externally, interferes with iodine molecules and causes your body to excrete the iodine it needs so badly. Chlorine is present in most city water supplies. Unless you de-chlorinate your water, you are being exposed to thyroid-lowering gases whenever you bathe, shower, or have a drink of water. You can quickly and easily remove chlorine in your shower with a number of products

Since Chlorine is an enemy of our Thyroid I drink filtered water on-the-go with pure-go filtering water bottles
It lasts for approximately 1 year. If a person drinks 3 bottles of water per day the cost of the bottle is equals less than 3 cents per fill up.

For a healthy thyroid a diet rich in seaweed is much appreciated by your body.

Also I drink lots of pure filtered water and am taking CellPower™ because for one thing it does have lots of digestive enzymes in it, also it helps to balance the pH levels and is antibiotic, anti-viral-and anti-fungal AND IT PACKS THE CELLS WITH LIFE-GIVING OXYGEN, AND ENERGY. SOY; HEALTH FOOD OR HAZARD

First~All soy is genetically modified and gm foods are not recognized by the body as nourishment, so it's like a drug, an unnatural substance that causes a reaction in the body [the very definition of a drug].

Second~ soy is not a food product and has a foul taste so it is highly processed as well. Another 'food group' to ignore. The only was you could make it worse is by adding MSG [actually it contains a free glumatic acid similar to MSG in it-a neurotoxin and frequently more is added to soy to make it more palatable] and frying it in trans fats.

3-Soy has high levels of phytoestrogens. You can imagine how those estrogens [the female hormone affects males eating it, and how it wars with their own testosterone].

4-It also is loaded with phytic acid-which reduces assimilation of calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc causing major growth development problems in children. Early puberty [under age 8 for many] for girls and late or no development of male puberty attributes].

5-Soy formula given to many infants~ under the banner of it being so healthy~ actually causes a myriad of troubles in them, including reduced vitamin D absorption [the cancer preventative vitamin] and lowered resistance due to environmental hazards and makes for sickly children.

6-The processing of Soy also causes formation of toxic lysinoalanine and highly carcinogenic nitrosamines and kills off any fragile proteins and enzymes it might have had to make it healthy, but now it's a dead substance at best.

7-Soy also contains high levels of aluminum a definite kidney and nervous system toxin. Aluminum also found in Pickles, table salt, and anti-perspirants has been implicated in Alzheimer's, yes, they say it isn't the cause, but the myelin surrounding the nerves and brain cells are loaded with aluminum in Alzheimer's patients.

** You be the judge, if it's worth it to you to load up on aluminum, eating it and cooking with it and smearing it under your arms every day, it's your funeral.**

Back to soy~

(1)
Phytoestrogens
The endocrine disruptors in soy.
You've probably heard quite a bit about phytoestrogens. The plant compounds that mimic estrogen are touted by some as miracle agents that will prevent cancer, coronary heart disease and osteoporosis (just to name a few).
But there is a much darker side to these compounds which are phyto-endocrine disruptors by any other name. You'll be shocked to learn that these compounds may actually increase the risk of breast cancer and cause thyroid disease, and angry to discover that soy formulas manufacturers refuse to remove them from their products despite knowing that babies fed soy-formulas risk irreversible damage.

Let's talk a bit about the breast cancer and thyroid danger of soy.

8-CANCER CAUSER:
(2)
Soy phytoestrogens causing cancer? Hold on a minute, what about all the latest research that tells us that soy prevents cancer?! The key arguments in the case for soy as an anti-cancer foodstuff appear based on:
~Crude epidemiology. Mortality rates of certain types of hormone dependent cancers (such as breast and prostate) are lower in Asians. Asians eat lots o soy. Wow, if ~we eat lots of soy we will reduce our risk of cancer too!
Evidence that the soy isoflavone genistein displays anti-cancer properties in vitro. Wow, genistein inhibits the growth of, and kills, cancer cells; let's eat more today!
But long before these anti-cancer claims became common, researchers had noted that phytoestrogens such as genistein could greatly enhance the proliferation of cancer cells.
Confused? Well there's no need to be. it is not uncommon for hormonally active agents, such as the soy phytoestrogens, to act as both estrogens and anti-estrogens. In simple terms this means that they can act to stimulate or inhibit the growth of certain types of cells, such as those found in the human breast.
How do we know whether a compound will have a tendency to stimulate or inhibit cell growth? Well both natural hormones and hormonally active agents can work quite differently in people according primarily to dose and life stage. Contrast adults with children; premenopausal women with menopausal or post-menopausal women; women with breast cancer with women with no abnormal breast tissue growth.
Hence, although you may have heard lots about studies showing the anti-cancer effects of soy you may not have read about the following work:
Phytoestrogen concentration determines effects on DNA synthesis in Human breast cancer cells .
Effects of dietary menhaden oil, soy and cyclooxygenase inhibitor on human breast cancer cell growth
Short-term soy feeding increases breast cancer cell proliferation in pre-menopausal women with a history of benign or malignant breast disease....
in mice, the incidence of uterine adenocarcinoma was 35% for genistein and 31% for DES.

Is that clear? Not to me either, but it boils down to: SOY, leave it alone! Better safe than sorry.

In New Zealand the proclamatin that came from their ministry of health on SOY-BASED INFANT FORMULAS

The Cancer Council of Australia: Soy Cancer Warning
by Clair Weaver (Source: NEWS.com.au) January 14, 2007 12:00
CANCER patients are being warned to avoid foods rich in soy because they can accelerate the growth of tumours.
The Cancer Council NSW will issue guidelines today, warning about the dangers of high-soy diets and soy supplements for cancer patients and those people in remission from cancer.
At particular risk are people suffering from hormone-dependent cancers, including breast and prostate cancer - the two most common types of cancer in Australia.
Cancer survivors are also being urged to avoid high doses of soy, as they may be more vulnerable to a relapse.

THYROID PROBLEMS DUE TO COMSUMPTION OF SOY
9~Soy's phytoestrogens attack the thyroid. [quote]Phytoestrogens - Anti-thyroid agents
We're sick of hearing that there are no harmful effects of phytoestrogens. Phytoestrogens disrupt thyroid function.
[/quote]

Also the soyonline source from New Zealand. Apparently that country is not run by big business' agendas.

(1)
Theodore Kay of the Kyoto University Faculty of Medicine noted in 1988 that 'thyroid enlargement in rats and humans, especially children and women, fed with soybeans has been known for half a century'.
In fact, thyroid problems associated with soy were also well known to bird-breeders, which is how Soy Online Service first became aware of the goitrogenicity of soy.
Well known, but that fact seemed to escape manufacturers of the first commercially available soy formulas. Those formulas were known to cause in goitre in infants and one can only wonder how many other infants were left hypothyroid or suffering from permanent thyroid damage by soy formulas.
The iodine levels in soy formulas were increased and instances of goitre in infants fed these products ceased. However, there appears to have been no attempt to isolate or remove the goitrogenic properties from soy formulas. This is of grave concern because, although elevated iodine levels would have helped to nullify the effects of the goitrogens, the goitrogens would still have been actively suppressing thyroid function in infants. Hence millions of babies (particularly in the United States where soy formula feeding is most common) have needlessly been exposed to goitrogenic agents; Soy Online Service believe that infants fed soy formulas unnecessarily risk abnormal thyroid function and a greater risk of thyroid disease in later life.
So just what are these goitrogenic agents? In 1997 research from the FDA's National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) showed that the darling of the soy industry, the isoflavone genistein, was a potent inhibitor of Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO); in fact genistein is a more powerful inhibitor of TPO than common anti-thyroid drugs! If genistein could inhibit TPO in vitro, it follows that it could result in an elevation of Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), and a subsequent decrease in thyroxine (T3) in vitro; in other words consumption of the soy isoflavone genistein might result in hypothyroidism and goitre.
Recent research leaves little doubt that dietary isoflavones in soy have a profound effect on thyroid function in humans. A study by Japanese researchers concluded that intake of soy by healthy adults for a long duration caused enlargement of the thyroid and suppressed thyroid function. These researchers studied the effects of feeding 30 g of soybeans per day on thyroid function and found that after one month there was a significant increase in thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels in a group of 20 adults (group I) but no change in thyroxine levels.

So my recommendation; if you want to get healthier, lose weight, exercise, eat healthy, real, fresh foods, especially raw ones, avoid all transfats and microwaved foods,

I eat a decent diet and avoid as many pollutants; and processed, gm, or non-foods as possible and therefore have fewer free radicals running around in MY body than most people I meet. AFTER BEING MARRIED FOR 44 YEARS, I TOOK A CAREFUL LOOK AT MY WIFE ONE DAY AND SAID, "HONEY, 44 YEARS AGO WE HAD A CHEAP APARTMENT, A CHEAP CAR, SLEPT ON A SOFA BED AND WATCHED A 10-INCH BLACK AND WHITE TV, BUT I GOT TO SLEEP EVERY NIGHT WITH A HOT 25-YEAR-OLD GAL.

NOW I HAVE A $500,000 HOME, A $45,000 CAR, NICE BIG BED AND PLASMA SCREEN TV, BUT I'M SLEEPING WITH A 65-YEAR -OLD WOMAN.
IT SEEMS TO ME THAT YOU'RE NOT HOLDING UP YOUR SIDE OF THINGS."

MY WIFE IS A VERY REASONABLE WOMAN. SHE TOLD ME TO GO OUT AND FIND A HOT 25-YEAR-OLD GAL, AND SHE WOULD MAKE SURE THAT I WOULD ONCE AGAIN BE LIVING IN A CHEAP APARTMENT, DRIVING A CHEAP CAR, SLEEPING ON A SOFA BED AND WATCHING A 10-INCH BLACK AND WHITE TV.

AREN'T OLDER WOMEN GREAT?
THEY REALLY KNOW HOW TO SOLVE YOUR MID-LIFE CRISES!

age doesn't make you forgetful, having too many stupid things to remember makes you forgetful.

If your friends can accurately guess your age, get dumber friends.

Some people can have all the lights on and still be in the dark.

Got hooked up to high speed internet; it crashes faster now.

I find it helps to organize chores into groups:
Things I won't do now, things I won't do later, and things I'll never do. For me it's eating meatloaf, at 21 I decided I never had to eat that stuff again!

Don't let aging get you down, it's way to hard to get back up.

Everything slows down with age, except the time it takes ice cream and cake to get to your hips.

While shopping at a local Walmart, I spotted a man with an
acronym on his shirt that had B.A.D. Me, being the person that I am
(curious), I stopped the man and asked, "What does B.A.D. stand for?"
And trust me, you'll be amazed at what his response was.
He replied, B.A.D. stands for: "Blessed And Delivered".
That thought stuck with me as I finished doing my shopping that
day. So I came up with a little advice for you today.

1. When the enemy tries to attack you, be B.A.D.
2. When things don't seem to be going right on your job, be
B.A.D.
3. When things are not looking good in your marriage, be B.A.D.
4. When folks scandalize your name, just be B.A.D.
~~~~Have a great and healthy day, May you be blessed in your coming in and going out.~~~
