HOW IS YOUR THYROID?

Sign-up for the weekly newsletter digest that is packed with the latest news in healthy living, you need this resource interactive

*******************HOW IS YOUR THYROID?************
(1)The thyroid gland is small and located in the region of the Adam's apple of the front of the neck. Thyroid hormones are important in regulating body energy, the body's use of other hormones and vitamins, and the growth and maturation of body tissues.

Two things that can go wrong are Hyperthyroidism, or having a too active thyroid or Hypothyroidism which is having too little hormone production.

Symptoms of hyperthyroidism are:
*Nervousness and irritability *Palpitations and tachycardia
*Heat intolerance or increased sweating *Tremor *Weight loss or gain
*Increase in appetite *Frequent bowel movements or diarrhea
*Lower leg swelling *Sudden paralysis *Shortness of breath with exertion
*Decreased menstrual flow *Impaired fertility *Sleep disturbances (including insomnia) *Changes in vision *Photophobia, or light sensitivity
*Eye irritation with excess tears *Diplopia, or double vision
*Exophthalmos, or forward protrusion of the eyeball

Therapy for hyperthyroidism is often radioactive iodine ablation or thyroidectomy.

Symptoms for Hypothyroidism include:
*Fatigue *Weakness *Intolerance to cold *Muscle aching and cramps
*Constipation *Weight gain or difficulty losing weight *Poor appetite
*Goiter (enlarged thyroid gland) *Dry, rough skin *Coarse hair or hair loss
*Eye and face swelling *Deeper and/or hoarse voice *Irregular or heavy menstrual periods *Depression *Memory loss *Slowed thinking and mental activity
*Increased blood cholesterol levels

Therapies for hypothyroidism include: Levothyroxine drugs or for alternative treatments: an adjustment in the diet to add iodine as in seafood. But too much Iodine can make a poorly functioning thyroid worse as well as some thyroid-blocking action from cabbage, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower which can exacerbate thyroid function if these otherwise highly nutritious foods are eaten in very high doses.

Of course all of these symptoms are pretty universal for may other conditions and a blood test for thyroid function is a good idea, many doctors contend themselves with a cursory palpating examination or the neck which just isn't enough at all. Many women, in particular find that correct diagnosis and therapy for either hypo- or hyper thyroidism is really a life-saver for them.

One outstanding Medical revolutionary by the name of Nan Fuchs M.D. says this:
(2)
One in 10 women in this country have been diagnosed with thyroid problems. Some endocrinologists believe that one in four women have an under active or overactive thyroid. One reason may be because our thyroid glands are twice as large as those in men, creating a greater need for iodine. When we're under stress, our thyroids become even larger and more active, causing us to need even more.
This recent epidemic of thyroid problems appears to be due to a decline in dietary iodine. In 1940, our typical American diet contained 500-800 micrograms of iodine. By 1995, that amount had dropped down to 135 micrograms. But insufficient iodine intake isn't the only reason for low iodine. Thyroid problems are also caused by two other factors: exposure to substances that interfere with iodine levels, and an increased exposure to harmful radioactive iodine.

But don't think that all iodine is the same. It's not. There are two forms: iodine 127 (safe, natural dietary iodine) and iodine 131 (a harmful radioactive by-product of nuclear energy). Your body absorbs and retains any kind of iodine, depositing most of it in your thyroid gland or breasts. If you're deficient in the safe form of iodine, you'll absorb more radioactive iodine 131. But if you have enough dietary iodine, you won't absorb as much of the radioactive kind. The good iodine blocks the harmful type. Seaweed provides the dietary iodine you need for better thyroid function, and protects you from the harmful effects of radioactive iodine.

All of us have been exposed to radioactive iodine. Since 1945, radioactive material has been released into the air from nuclear testing and nuclear power plants all over the world. The ordinary day-to-day operations of these nuclear plants put harmful radioactive iodine into our atmosphere. Since we can't avoid it, we need to block its absorption. This exposure to iodine 131 is very possibly the origin of the increased amount of thyroid disorders we're seeing today. The regular consumption of seaweed may restore your thyroid function. Interfering with Iodine
Anything that contains chlorine, fluoride, and bromine, like water, whether it's used internally or externally, interferes with iodine molecules and causes your body to excrete the iodine it needs so badly. Chlorine is present in most city water supplies. Unless you de-chlorinate your water, you are being exposed to thyroid-lowering gases whenever you bathe, shower, or have a drink of water. You can quickly and easily remove chlorine in your shower with a number of products

Since Chlorine is an enemy of our Thyroid I drink filtered water on-the-go with pure-go filtering water bottles
It lasts for approximately 1 year. If a person drinks 3 bottles of water per day the cost of the bottle is equals less than 3 cents per fill up.

For a healthy thyroid a diet rich in seaweed is much appreciated by your body.

Also I drink lots of pure filtered water and am taking CellPower™ because for one thing it does have lots of digestive enzymes in it, also it helps to balance the pH levels and is antibiotic, anti-viral-and anti-fungal AND IT PACKS THE CELLS WITH LIFE-GIVING OXYGEN, AND ENERGY. A man was in his front yard mowing grass, when his neighbor storms out of the house straight to the mailbox, opens it, slams it shut and storms back in.
A little later the neighbor storms out and does the exact same thing again, before storming back in even more red-faced.
As the man was getting ready to edge the lawn, out the neighbor comes again, marches to the mail box, opens it before slamming it closed harder than ever.
Puzzled by the neighbor's actions the man asked, "Is something wrong?"
"There certainly is!" the neighbor replied. "My stupid computer keeps saying, YOU'VE GOT MAIL."

HOW TO HAVE A HEALTHY HEART

Sign-up for the weekly newsletter digest that is packed with the latest news in healthy living, you need this resource interactive
write to me at webriter@verizon.net or mark_my_bailey@yahoo.com.
**************HOW TO HAVE A HEALTHY HEART************
(1)
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. It is also one of the main causes of death in Canada and is killing more and more people throughout the world.
Dietary advice for reducing heart disease risk includes eating a balanced diet with less saturated fat from red meats, more fresh fruits and vegetables, more fish, less sugar, more fiber and for many people, fewer total calories. Then you can make your heart and the rest of your cardiovascular system even healthier by adding more of these foods:
Salmon
Fish is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids that protect your heart by reducing both inflammation and the risk of blood clots. These fats also work to keep your cholesterol levels healthy. Eat salmon or other oily ocean fish like tuna, sardines or herring at least two times per week. For a heart-healthy meal, try grilled salmon steaks with a green vegetable and a side salad with a sprinkling of
Olive oil reduces your risk of heart disease by lowering your LDL cholesterol levels. Choose olive oil for cooking, or make a nice dip for whole grain bread by pouring a bit of olive oil in a small bowl and add a bit of balsamic vinegar and a sprinkle of oregano.
Oats contain a soluble fiber called beta glucan that helps reduce total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. Soluble fiber also helps keep your digestive system healthy. Enjoy oatmeal with just a small amount of brown sugar and plenty of strawberries and walnuts for breakfast. Cold cereals made with oats are also great with low-fat milk
Apples contain a phytochemical called quercetin which acts as an antiinflammatory and will help prevent blood clots as well. Apples contain vitamins and fiber, come in several delicious varieties and are portable. Eat an apple with a handful of walnuts or almonds as a healthy snack or add apple slices to your healthy salads.
Almonds and other nuts contain healthy oils, vitamin E and other substances that will help keep cholesterol levels in check. Almonds are also a good source of protein and fiber. Almonds make a great snack on their own, or sprinkle slivered almonds on green beans or asparagus with lemon juice as a deliciously healthy side
Red wine contains a powerful antioxidant called resveratrol. Resveratrol has been shown to be good for your heart. Be sure to enjoy red wine in moderation. Studies
Whole grains provide vitamins and fiber that will help to keep your heart healthy. Make a deliciously healthy sandwich with two slices of 100-percent whole-grain bread, three ounces of lean turkey breast, lots of sliced tomatoes and avocado, plus lettuce and a bit of mustard. Switch from white pasta to whole grain pasta too.
Green leafy vegetables contain folate, which helps to keep homocysteine levels down, and vitamin E. Green leafy vegetables have also been associated with better retention of memory as age. Try using fresh spinach leaves or other greens for your favorite salad instead of iceberg lettuce.
Tomatoes are packed with vitamins and lycopene, which has been shown to reduce heart disease risk. Add thick slices of tomatoes to sandwiches and salads or enjoy tomato sauce on whole wheat pasta. In fact, cooked tomato sauce and canned tomato sauce that you buy in the store both contain more lycopene than raw tomatoes.
Soy protein has been shown to prevent heart attacks and soy makes an excellent protein substitute for red meat, which will reduce your saturated fat intake. Add tofu to your favorite stir fry or pour soy milk on your morning cereal.

(3)
Research shows that the curry spice turmeric can help prevent heart failure and repair damaged hearts.
Although the tests were carried out in mice, scientists are hopeful the findings could apply to humans.
Heart failure, in which the heart, damaged by heart attack or disease, gradually loses the ability to pump blood round the body, typically kills 40 percent of victims within a year of onset. Symptoms include tiredness, swollen ankles and breathlessness.
Although there are drugs that can control the condition, there is no way of repairing the scarring and damage suffered by heart muscles.

I have a few changes to make to this list, first, unless the soy is fermented stay away from it, it has phytic acid that causes too many problems for too many to be considered beneficial.See Soy-health or hazard Also almonds are only beneficial if they are raw. Unfortunately the government thinks they need to be nuked to be "safe". Many people are allergic to grains and should avoid them also. Vegetables are best for healthy hearts if they are brightly colored, and leafy, Grocery stores tend to throw away the healthiest parts of lettuce and cabbage, because they are the darkest, most nutritious parts. Celery is grown surrounded by walls designed to blanch or keep them pale, in this case it keeps the celery from being too bitter, but it also keeps the vitamin count down. The most nutritious parts of the celery are the bitterish leaves and greenest outside stalks. The brightest colors of foods, the raw, and freshest ones are the healthiest. See Phyto power

Much ado is made of Cholesterol but as we've seen recently it is not nearly the villian drug manufacturers are wont to worry us about. See Cholesterol, not the bad thing we think it is However it is important to protect our circulatory system by using proper fats, coconut oil, and raw butter are the best to cook with, Olive oil is best to have as a salad dressing base. Trans fats are really hazardous to our health but saturated and poly unsaturated fats are our friends. Red meats if the animal was grain-fed are dangerous to our hearts but lard made from Beef that is range-fed is very good for us. Normal vegetable oils, even those that are touted to be good for us aren't, they are the artery cloggers.

An extremely important factor in heart health is EFA'a.
(2)
Fatty Acid Therapy: Your Heart Could Hang In The Balance
n-3 Fats May Modulate The Key Risk Markers Cholesterol and Insulin
Early Arctic explorers were among the first to observe the puzzling enigma: Why did Eskimos, who heartily consumed one of the fattiest diets on the planet, rarely ever develop heart disease?
This riddle has been solved bit by bit, as mounting research uncovers a plethora of heart-healthy benefits associated with omega-3 (n-3) oils. These fatty nutrients are contained in high amounts in the traditional Eskimo diet of coldwater fish, seal, and whale meat. Now, a new study on rural Inuit populations of northern Quebec lends more support to this already strong association.

EFA's or essential fatty acids include Flax seed, Borage, cold water fish like Salmon, Sardines, Tuna, Mackeral, cod and halibut but pick the smaller ones to eat due to Mercury content in the bigger fish. Oh and pick the ones that are wild caught. Who knows what the farmed fish are fed.

So, to sum this up, the answer is stil diet and exercise, eat fresh, locally grown veggies, and get lots of EFA's, and the right fats, cook gently and eat no processed foods. And don't forget the turmeric.

As for me, I'm taking CellPower™ because for one thing it does have lots of digestive enzymes in it, also it helps to balance the pH levels and is antibiotic, anti-viral-and anti-fungal AND IT PACKS THE CELLS WITH LIFE-GIVING OXYGEN, AND ENERGY.

That Darned Cat
A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid of him one day by driving him 20 blocks from his home and leaving him at the park. As he was getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway.
The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks away. He put the beast out and headed home. Driving back up his driveway, there was the cat!
He kept taking the cat further and further and the cat would always beat him home. At last he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past the bridge, then right again and another right until he reached what he thought was a safe distance from his home and left the cat there.
Hours later the man calls home to his wife: "Jen, is the cat there?"
"Yes", the wife answers, "why do you ask?"
Frustrated, the man answered, "Put that darned cat on the phone. I'm lost and need directions!"

GOSSIP
Keep this philosophy in mind the next time you either hear or are about to
repeat a rumor.
In ancient Greece, Socrates was widely lauded for his wisdom. One day the
great philosopher came upon an acquaintance who ran up to him excitedly and
said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about one of your students?"
"Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before you tell me I'd like you to
pass a little test. It's called the Test of Three."
"Three?"
"That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my
student, let's take a moment to test what you're going to say.
The first test is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are
about to tell me is true?"
"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it."
"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not.
Now let's try the second test, the test of Goodness. Is what you are about
to tell me about my student something good?"
"No, on the contrary..."
"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him even
Though you're not certain it's true?"
The man shrugged, a little embarrassed.
Socrates continued. "You may still pass though, because there is a Third
test -- the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my
student going to be useful to me?"
"No, not really."
"Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither True nor
Good nor even Useful, why tell it to me at all?"
The man was defeated and left, ashamed.

**************HEALTH FREEDOM OR TYRANNY**************

Our Health freedoms are coming under attack by the FDA "experts" (the same corrupt officials who re-approved Vioxx after it killed over 50,000 Americans). They say they want to re-classify things like Fruit or vegetable juices, herbs, vitamin supplements, even healing services as "unauthorized" medical treatments, to either raise the prices for these products or to make them illegal to sell. They want to regulate Alternative health and insist that people take pharmaceuticals rather than natural substances. They want more profits for the drug companies.
(1)
The FDA is accepting public comments on the docket until April 30th. They tried to sneak this under the radar, but word got out and now the natural health community is up in arms over this rule. If you wish to protect your access to nutritional supplements, herbs, essential oils, homeopathic medicine or any other "complementary" or "alternative" modality, it is crucial that you take action to post your comments with the FDA right now and write your representatives in Washington to put a stop to this outrageous effort to destroy natural medicine. (And be sure to really write them. Just sending an email has virtually no impact compared to writing a physical letter in your own words.)

See the document for yourself.

Here is an except from that document
(1)
..."biologically based practices" includes, but is not limited to, botanicals, animal-derived extracts, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, amino acids, proteins, prebiotics and probiotics: whole diets, and "functional foods". ...a botanical product intended for use in treating a disease would generally be regulated as a drug." ..."functional foods" may be subject to FDA regulation as foods, dietary supplements, or drugs under the Act.

Translation: All foods, supplements, superfoods and functional foods may be reclassified as drugs by the FDA, then regulated off the market.

You might want to contact the FDA and let them know what you think of the proposed guidelines. Make sure to include the docket # (No. 2006D-0480) with your comments. You can write to them at:

Dockets Management Branch (HFA-305)

Rockville, MD 20852

There was an online site, but surprise[!] it's been hacked.try this site to contact the FDA concerning this fiasco.

I want to stop right here and post the real cost of pharmaceuticals:

Over the years we've heard about the reports that this supplement or that alternative medicine "has been proven unreliable, by scientific testing by the minions of the FDA, then we find out the findings are skewed, or slanted or they used only part of the supplement to test, not the whole plant. They tell us if one person has a difficulty with a single herb, then that herb must be banned, yet thousands have died from Vioxx, [for one..] and it has been put back on the market, and the people going to their doctor are trusting their physician and taking this poisonous drug.

Read what's out there, and decide for yourself but do it quickly because if the FDA has their way there will be no more choice.

Got Any Grapes
A duck walks into a bar and asks, "Got any grapes?" The bartender, confused, tells the duck that no, his bar doesn't serve grapes. The duck thanks him and leaves.
The next day, the duck returns and says, "Got any grapes?" Again, the bartender tells him that, no, the bar does not serve grapes, has never served grapes, and, furthermore, will never serve grapes. The duck, a little ruffled, thanks him and leaves.
The next day, the duck returns, but before he can say anything, the bartender begins to yell: ''Listen, duck! This is a bar! We do not serve grapes! If you ever ask for grapes again, I will nail your stupid duck beak to the bar!''
The duck is silent for a moment, and then asks, ''Got any nails?''
Confused, the bartenders says no.
''Good!'' says the duck. ''Got any grapes?''

Purple Monkey
A man walked into a bar and the bartender said, "Don't touch the purple monkey up in room 222." The man sneered and went straight up to room 222 and opened the door. There sitting right in front of him was a purple monkey.
The man laughed again and touched the monkey. He then started down the stairs...the monkey was following him. The man went outside and got into his jeep. The monkey got in the back seat. The man ignored him.
Later the man drove to the Eiffel Tower. The man got out of the car and the monkey followed. Later the man finally reached the top, but the monkey was right behind him.
The man just burst and yelled, "What do you want!"
The monkey came up to him and said, "Tag...you're it.

One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the barber finished the cut, the florist asked about his bill and the barber replies, "I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week." The
florist was pleased and left the shop.
When the barber goes to open his shop the next morning, there is a 'Thank You' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.
Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, "I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing
community service this week." The cop is happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there is a 'Thank You'

Later that day, a college professor comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, "I cannot accept money
from you. I'm doing community service this week." The professor is very happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber opens his shop, there is a 'Thank You' card and a dozen different books, such as "How to Improve Your Business" and "Becoming More Successful."
Then, a Congressman comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies, "I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week." The Congressman is very happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.
And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the members of our Congress!

GETTING HEALTHY AND AFTERWARDS

Food tastes different when you haven't had chemical-laden highly processed and additive laced foods for a long time only real food. Let's say you visit a friend's house to eat you'll really notice the difference. And the next day you'll notice how sick you feel too. The tiny incremental changes we make in our diets make a huge difference in our lives and health.

I've been harping on this for nearly a year now on how we can eat better and more healthy and who knows not only live longer but live better?

I have known elderly people who are spry and just as intelligent and with-it mentally as they were when they were 30 years younger. I remember, in particular one old Indian Lady on the Nespelem Indian Reservation in Eastern Washington State who was 99the last time I saw her. She still had a huge garden, chopped wood and went to everyone else's funerals. Even now, 18 years later I'm sure there are still some elders living there who remember moving to the reservation in the early 1900's.

The younger generation was just as into fast foods and processed comestibles as the rest of the world, but the old timers ate roots and berries and grew their own good food, ate range-fed beef and raised chickens for food and eggs, they also used the chicken manure in their gardens. They lived long-full lives, a bit weaker toward the century mark but still going strong, they were not drooling on themselves in the nursing homes.

I hope to have a digest version of this blog going to be sent out once a week. I hope people will work with me to schedule regular chat times for the chatroom I've created for the exchange of ideas on the best ways to get and stay healthy.

In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the

She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box.
When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money

He asked her about the contents. "When we were to be married," she
said, " my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll."

The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two

happiness.

"Honey," he said, "that explains the doll, but what about all of this money?
Where did it come from?"

"Oh," she said, "that's the money I made from selling the dolls."

WHY DO 'HEALTHY' PEOPLE HAVE HEART ATTACKS?

(1)
The Hidden Heart
Attack Trigger

Doctors almost never test for this little-known risk factor. How to tell if you have it…
and what to do if you do.

BY ROBERT J. ROWEN, MD

I’m sure you’ve known someone who died of a heart attack suddenly and without warning. One day they seemed the picture of health. The next day they were gone, leaving behind bereaved spouses and children.

Sadly, this is quite common. In fact, of the half million Americans who die of a heart attack every year, almost half of them have none of the classic warning signs.

That’s right. Half the people who die of heart disease have no high blood pressure… no high cholesterol…
no previous heart problems.

That means that you can go to the doctor and get great scores on all the traditional tests and still drop dead the
next day.

Yet despite all the evidence that these tests are unreliable, doctors continue to rely on them. They check your cholesterol and triglycerides. They look at your blood pressure and weight and whether you smoke. If they’re really thorough, they may even check your homocysteine and C-reactive protein levels.

But there’s one important thing they’re not testing you for. And the latest research shows that this one thing is the most important risk factor of all!

Why? Because all the other factors, like blood pressure, LDL, and fibrinogen, are merely symptoms of this one factor!

So what is this risk factor? It’s…

...blood viscosity.

That’s right, viscosity. The thickness of your blood. I know it sounds unbelievable that your heart-attack risk could be reduced to something so simple, but please let me explain.

To understand blood viscosity, consider the difference in thickness between water and ketchup. If you turn a bottle of water over, it just flows out. But if you turn ketchup over, it hardly moves. To get it to move, you have to put pressure on it by squeezing the bottle.

Well, blood works in much the same way. To get it to move, you need to put pressure on it. Pressure that’s provided by the contractions of your heart and blood vessels.

Now here’s the danger: When any fluid gets too thick and the pressure gets too high, it can damage the sides of the pipe it flows in. And in the case of blood, the pipes getting damaged are your arteries.

Most artery damage occurs at branching of the blood vessels. If this damage were merely due to some lab value, like cholesterol or homocysteine, you’d expect it to be fairly constant throughout the blood vessels. But it’s not. Why? Because this damage is caused by the pressure and friction of thick blood flowing through these branched areas.

What happens is that the thick blood creates friction, which erodes the inner lining of the artery. To protect itself from this erosion, the artery patches itself up with plaque. But this narrows the artery… which increases the pressure… which leads to more injury… and so on. It’s a vicious cycle.

Now let’s look at some of the other risk factors known to contribute to heart disease. You’ll find that all seven are related to blood viscosity…

1) Cholesterol: High LDL cholesterol increases blood viscosity, while high HDL thins the blood.

2) Smoking: Thickens the blood by increasing fibrinogen and inflammation.

3) Diabetes: Makes red blood cells stiffer. And red-cell stiffness makes blood thicker.

4) Blood pressure: As I mentioned, when blood is thicker, you need more pressure to move it. More pressure results in more friction and more injury to the arteries.

5) Obesity: Increases blood viscosity and fibrinogen. It’s a known fact that when you lose weight, your viscosity and fibrinogen drop.

6) Gender: Pre-menopausal women have a much lower rate of heart disease than men. Why? Because menstruation thins the blood. After menopause, when menstruation ceases, the risk for men and women is equal.

7) Blood count and age: Young red blood cells fresh out of the bone marrow are soft and flexible. But as cells age, they incur damage, which does to red blood cells what it does to your joints: it makes them stiffer.

Eventually, the oldest, stiffest red blood cells are taken out and recycled in your spleen. But until then, they are very stiff and have trouble going through the capillaries. So a higher pressure is needed to drive them through.

Women are protected from this during menstruation. Why? Because every month they lose blood, leading the bone marrow to churn out lots of young, flexible cells to replace what is lost. Result: blood that flows smoothly.

But at menopause, this all stops. So older, stiffer blood cells circulate through the blood vessels. And heart-attack risk skyrockets!

By the way, the conventional wisdom is that postmenopausal women’s risk is due to the fact that they accumulate too much iron in the blood. The problem with this theory is that it can take years for iron to accumulate. In contrast, red blood stiffness takes just a few months.

Yes, blood viscosity is the single most important factor for heart health. But until recently, it’s been very difficult to measure

There are tests for blood viscosity but I lack the technical expertise to explain them, see the sources for more information.

Of course if you mention blood viscosity to your conventional MD he'll instantly write a prescription for you for wayfarin- a nice rat poison,[why not just nibble on a bit of mouse chow kibble? D-Con!] it's the blood thinner of choice for most members of the AMA. You could also take aspirin every day also, but for those, like me, who are violently allergic to it that's not an option.

Fortunately there are some natural blood thinners, Like onions and garlic, probably anything in the allium family of herbs and then there are foods containing salicylates-the ingredient in white willow bark that scientists perverted to make the harsh drug-Aspirin.
Herbs and spices high in salicylates include: *Curry powder *Cayenne pepper *Ginger
*Paprika *Thyme *Cinnamon *Dill *Oregano *Turmeric *Licorice *Peppermint.

(3)
In Ayurvedic (traditional Indian medicine) many of the above spices are known as "warming spices". I think this is because by thinning the blood they increase a person's blood circulation, which in turn speeds up the metabolism and makes a person feel warmer.

You know as I started this entry I was getting a little concerned about my own blood viscosity, but after seeing the natural blood thinners I just relaxed. I eat all on that list except for Ginger which tends to really increase the appetite, something that, for me needs no help whatsoever!

So, forearmed and prepared we all know now how to prevent the hidden causes of heart attacks, start today let's get healthy!

Three C's to Ponder:

1. The Cows
2. The Constitution
3. The 10 Commandments

C O W S
Does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.
T H E C O N S T I T U T I O N
They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.
T H E 1 0 C O M M A N D M E N T S The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery," and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians...It creates a hostile work environment -
~~~
THIS WAS NOT INTENDED AS A JOKE BUT IT'S PRETTY FUNNY:
The holidays are here, and there will be lots of comings and goings -- and perhaps a bit too much of staying. Sometimes friends and family are having such a good time at your celebration that they forget to go home. Of course, all good things must come to an end -- and hosts need their sleep. Here's a lighthearted look at handling party stragglers and houseguests who won't leave.
Know How to Say Good-Bye
If guests won't leave after a party, it's perfectly acceptable to suggest politely that it's time to go. Practice these phrases from expert socialites.
Abigail van Buren (Dear Abby): "Oh, dear, just look at the time! I didn't realize it was so late. I'm going to let you nice people go home, so you can retire."
Judith Martin (Miss Manners): "It's been wonderful having you. We really enjoyed it. I'll get you the train schedule. Will you be needing a ride to the station?"
Walter Sickert (British Impressionist painter): "Do come back when you've a little less time to spare."
Outwit the Long-Term Lodger
If you don't want to play host for a few days, tell aspiring guests that it will be impossible for them to stay with you, saying, perhaps, "It's just not a good time for me." If you don't mind having someone stay over, be very clear about how long the person is invited to stay: "Make yourself at home, but only through Friday night -- I'm having the living room painted this weekend." Then make arrangements to have the living room painted. Here are some other ideas you might want to try (but probably shouldn't!).
Avoid buying a sofa bed. Offer your guests the floor.
Put a rock under the guest mattress. Or a typewriter.
Make sure the refrigerator is empty, or full of dairy products and turned off.
Tell them your key is hard to use, then change the locks.
~~~
Here's another,:
a certain family just happened to stop by at the Jones' every day at dinnertime. Now the Jones were hospitable people but got tired of feeding their neighbors every night so one night Mr. Jones put his plate on the floor for the dog to lick, afterwards he picked it up and handed it to his daughter saying, there you go he got it plenty clean again, no need to wash it, just put it away and let him clean all of them so there are no dishes to wash. As you might imagine, the neighbors found a different family to 'visit' after that.
~~~
I was testing the children in my Sunday school class
to see if they understood the concept of getting to heaven. I asked them, "If I sold my house and my car,had a big garage sale and gave all my money to the church,
Would that get me into Heaven?"
"NO!" the children answered.
"If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the yard, and kept everything neat and tidy, would that get me into Heaven?" Again, the answer was, "NO!" By now I was starting to smile. Hey, this was fun! "Well, then, if I was kind to animals
and gave candy to all the children, and loved my husband, would that get me into Heaven?"I asked them again.
Again, they all answered, "NO!"
I was just bursting with pride for them. "Well," I continued, "then how can I get into Heaven?" A five-year-old boy shouted out,
"YOU GOTTA BE DEAD."
~~~
That's it for today, folks, God bless you all and may your days be filled with good things from God's storehouse.

HEALING WITHOUT ANY OUTSIDE AGENTS.

"A cheerful heart is good medicine." - King Solomon (Proverbs 17:22)

(1)
King Solomon gave us one of the earliest recorded accounts regarding the healing power of humor and laughter. In the 1300's, surgeon Henri de Mondeville reportedly told jokes to his patients in the recovery room. In the 1600's, educator Richard Mulcater recommended laughter for those suffering from head colds.

Throughout the centuries court jesters have been hired to relieve the royalty's stress from governmental duties. Perhaps the most insightful recording of the benefits of laughter and humor healing came from Dr. Norman Cousins in his book, Anatomy of an Illness as Perceived by the Patient.

Laughter And Humor Can And Does Enhance Our Overall Well-Being

In 1964 Dr. Cousins was diagnosed with a crippling and extremely painful inflammation of his body. With his physician's assistance, he checked out of the hospital and into a hotel to utilize as many natural resources as possible to treat his condition. His experience became a controlled study in pain management and overall healing.

Dr. Cousins had a strong will to live and knew if he focused on love and faith, he could generate positive emotions. He decided to experiment with laughter to create a positive factor in altering his body chemistry to be in a healing mode. Dr. Cousins systematically watched Candid Camera classics, Marx Brother films, and read books like E.B. and Katharine White's Subtreasury of American Humor and Max Eastman's The Enjoyment of Laughter. He later wrote, "I made the joyous discovery that ten minutes of genuine belly laughter had an anesthetic effect and would give me at least two hours of pain-free sleep." He recovered from this condition and spent the next 20 years teaching about the merits of laughter and humor in healing.

Experts now agree, Laughter:
-Is good for you
-Boosts your immune system
-Can be shared
-Relieves tension
-Benefits the mind, body and spirit
-Is free!

"Me, Funny?"

OK, let's go with that to start. It's a proven fact that a person can completely heal themselves with humor, they can sit down to a plate full of sitcoms and get up healed of the worst diseases. Also habitual smilers have sweeter kinds of wrinkles. It doesn't take a portrait of Dorian Grey to see that our lives are writ upon our countenances. Look at the Rolling Stones, I rest my case.

I have a couple of well; amusing stories I want you to read, you will be tested on this so don't try wiggling out of it. This is an experiment so just see if it helps you.

"The Duck that Flew before it Hatched"
AND
Part II~Time in the Well etc

But if humor cures are there other ways to get well with any outside agents? Yes!

We can implant positive feelings and outcomes in our minds to effect healing. Personally when I'm out I have a short mantra I repeat, I say to myself, over and over, "I'm Healthy and beautiful". Hey, why not, it is good to balance one word with a complimentary word, and it reminds me to suck in my stomach [good for the abs, Bunky] and when I smile I get postive return from others around me, it reinforces my own feelings of well-being. Why not try it for one day. What have you got to lose? I'm not asking you for anything that costs anything whatsoever to do. And you might lose that cranky look you've been carrying on your old old mug. Or don't your choice, Hee is someone else's thoughts on this subject:

(2)
Holistic approaches to health have been tapping into the brain's control over every cell for centuries in a way that supports the brain=behavior line of thinking, external behavior controlled by the brain influencing internal behavior. The common name for such a tapped resource is called imaging or visualization, and is most helpful in cancer patients. More and more studies, such as the work going on at the Mind Science Foundation in San Antonio, Texas, are proving that using such a technique, in conjunction with other treatments, works by "boosting the body's natural immunity and actually increasing the activity of natural killer (NK) cells, which then attack tumors". Studies are proving people can actually send hormones or chemicals to respond to the problem area by just "thinking them up," signaling the nervous system and the organs/immune system in the body necessary to the defense to either respond or work harder. Of course, in most cases, medical course of action on the disease is necessary to truly fight off the cancer or illness, a healthy dose of positive imagery directed to output in a system response has been proven on numerous studies to aid in the healing process. This is the most often heard of use of positive thinking and the one that I have had second hand experience with, a friend of mine battling cancer and winning for longer than expected. A prolonged and better quality life is actually possible if you will it enough to force the brain to be stimulated with the thought and begin the necessary action potentials that send the messages to the immune and endocrine system. By the autonomic capabilities of the brain it does not take much conscious effort to produce the desired healing output, it is an unconscious process.

Then there's prayer, and it has been shown to really make a difference in the outcomes of many people's healing, another try it it's free kind of things. Reported in The Washington Post:

(3)
Many studies done over the years indicate that the devout tend to be healthier. But the reasons remain far from clear. Healthy people may be more likely to join churches. The pious may lead more wholesome lifestyles. Churches, synagogues and mosques may help people take better care of themselves. The quiet meditation and incantations of praying, or the comfort of being prayed for, appears to lower blood pressure, reduce stress hormones, slow the heart rate and have other potentially beneficial effects.
But the most controversial research focuses on "intercessory" or "distant" prayer, which involves people trying to heal others through their intentions, thoughts or prayers, sometimes without the recipients knowing it. The federal government has spent $2.2 million in the past five years on studies of distant healing, which have also drawn support from private foundations.
San Francisco cardiologist Randolph Byrd, for example, conducted an experiment in which he asked born-again Christians to pray for 192 people hospitalized for heart problems, comparing them with 201 not targeted for prayer. No one knew which group they were in. He reported in 1988 that those who were prayed for needed fewer drugs and less help breathing.
William S. Harris of St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., and colleagues published similar results in 1999 from a study involving nearly 1,000 heart patients, about half of whom were prayed for without their knowledge.
But these and other studies have been called deeply flawed. They were, for example, analyzed in the most favorable way possible, looking at so many outcomes that the positive findings could easily have been the result of chance, critics say.
"It's called the sharpshooter's fallacy," said Richard Sloan, a behavioral researcher at Columbia University. "The sharpshooter empties the gun into the side of a barn and then draws the bull's-eye. In science, you have to predict in advance what effect you may have."

Basically it boils down to if you believe it helps if not, well you are on your own,
IN THE WORST POSSIBLE SENSE.

Well I'm doing all those things and still hedging my bets with:

A SERIOUS TREATISE ON HOW TO BE NOT SICK

Ok, so it’s not that serious but still. I woke up Saturday with a dry throat, no biggie, it’s nothing to worry about, I went about my normal routine, took my blood sugar, opened the drapes, talked to God, ate my apple for breakfast, worried just a little about that 6 pounds that have crept back since I started this diet. Before I got down to that weight years ago [you thought I was going to tell you how much I weigh, yeah, like That’s gonna happen] It was when I’d plateau-ed years before I got married, before I’d moved to Oregon from Seattle and WHY I’d joined a gym. The GYM? Yup that lasted until my guest cards ran out and reality set in; I had to go alone. Not only that but I was the fattest one there. Well maybe not the fattest but the combination of oldest/fattest/shortest. So, I did what any respectable middle-aged short fat woman would do, I quit going.

Ok that established, back to my cold. By mid-afternoon, my throat was definitely sore and snot was coming in 50 gallon drums. The weather has been cold and rainy, lovely. So, I’m sick and I have so much to do, it’s raining out and I still haven’t finished my fall garden work. I CAN’T BE SICK! I gotta do something. So, what did I do? Well er, nothing. I took my supplements like normal, ate my nearly no-carb diet and ignored the cold, like it’d just go away. I received an extra job, my bamboo arrived, I’d HAVE to take care of it Manana.

The next day I was really sick; head ballooned out with built up snot, ears, sinuses, nose, throat, cranium cavity-lots of extra space up there- and I had a headache, didn’t feel like eating so didn’t. Later we took a trip to our local and favorite pharmacy see: rite aid, to buy some of that occisillam or whatever it is, but the label assured me it cured all the wrong symptoms so I checked out the vi-????. It had stuff in it I can’t have so as I mentioned in another entry I tried the vitamin C cure. It had worked for me before but this time in my arrogance I decided to wait a day. Well after the vitamin C had its way with my innards, oh let’s just say there was some pain and throne sitting involved, I felt a bit better. This whole time I’ve been wearing my warmies, now there is absolutely nothing in this world I hate more than sweating and OH LUCKY ME, I’ve been hot flashing back-to-back for 24 years.

I was still coughing and I had trouble getting any sleep and the snot was still very much in evidence, and my throat was dry; our weather was wet but it was so dry inside, I started keeping a thermos of iced water close. I was cooking with sweated [that means very, very gently cooked], onions and garlics, lots and lots of them and I’ve been drinking green tea, with lemon and honey. All of the aforementioned things are antibacterial. I also taking a handful of vitamin C each day, and was gargling with my normal dosage of CellPower™ I take three times a day so my throat was ever so much better, no soreness, and with the use of boiling water on our stove, the dryness was not so pronounced either.

Yesterday, Tuesday, it was raining, I woke up feeling punk, no energy, too tired to move around but too rested to sleep, I couldn’t do anything, so I didn’t.

Today is Wednesday, I woke up feeling energetic, and not such a coldish-type o’ gal. I went out to the garage to get the load of bamboo I was given put up so we could park our car in there. What? You don’t park your car in your garage? Well we don’t either, but we’re suspecting that Thanksgiving would be a sneaky time to dump a load of snow on us.

I just got a friend’s entire crop of Arundo Donax- not the highest quality bamboo but still- and it made a huge leafy pile in the center of my garage. I have to peel all the leaves off, Sort and top them. I got about half done, That was a full 5 hours of hard work in a cold wet garage, Did I mention our weather has been rainy for days? Well it has. After working until after dark I still felt pretty good; But then I’ve eaten the equivalent of 10,000 oranges, 60 lemons, 40 onions, 32 garlic bulbs about two gallons of CellPower™ water, sweated for three days like a Stevedore, and had a complete bowel cleanse. I should be feeling better. I’m sore from my muscles being worked in the cold and damp- It was raining- but I feel pretty good. Now if I could only tell if I am having a hot flash or if I am febrile [running a fever]. I don’t own a thermometer. My reasons for this are
several.

First, and apparently this salient point is oft overlooked, a thermometer is a DIAGNOSTIC tool, it is not in any way therapeutic, yet it’s the very first thing people reach for. Like checking the crankcase oil, when your tranny is out, GET REAL, no matter what your temperature is, if you feel sick you probably are. Taking the temperature tells you NOTHING. And it doesn’t help.

Here’s a little tidbit, 98.6 is an average, we are all different, my NORMAL temperature is between 99-100. Does it help me to know if my current temp is 99 or 99.5? My hand is up, I’ll answer that one, NO!

If I am warm to the touch I’m running a fever, if not I probably am not running one. If I am running a fever it tells us what? That I am sick, Maybe. Or that I’ve been exercising-fat chance on that, or my clothing is too warm for the weather, probably not. So, we’ve established sickness.

I also have a theory I explained to the dentist who pulled my tooth. I said I do not believe in Pain, I use no pain, NO PAIN as my motto, I believe that pain is counter therapeutic, and my goal is to get well. He looked at me like I was serious, first time THAT has ever happened, well when you are only two inches taller than a certified elf -altho’ it might be nice to be certified- no one takes one seriously and he respected my wishes, he caused me no pain and hustled me out with a prescription for some pain reliever I threw away. I never did hurt from it, it healed nicely and I was back to work that afternoon.

Oh and that 6 pounds I was worrying about, I lost it somewhere, not that I’m looking for it, but for a little minute I considered its possible location, then I remembered. And I’m not wanting to find it neither!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, my husband was worried I wouldn’t get out turkey thawed in time, so he bought two frozen one and what the store cutely calls a ‘fresh’ one. Now what it really means is that it WAS frozen but they thawed it out maybe two weeks ago and it’s been sitting in the meat case for that fortnight with a label of *FRESH* on it. Steve and I have been married for nearly 8 years and I’ve yet to serve him a frozen turkey, but this year he was worried, so we now have a plethora of fowl.

I'm still taking

~~~
Martha Stewart will not be dining with us this Thanksgiving. I'm telling
you in advance, so don't act surprised. Since Ms. Stewart won't be coming,
I've made a few small changes: Our sidewalk will not be lined with
homemade, paper bag luminaries. After a trial run, it was decided that no
matter how cleverly done, rows of flaming lunch sacks do not have the
desired welcoming effect.
Once inside, our guests will note that the entry hall is not decorated
with the swags of Indian corn and fall foliage I had planned to make.
Instead, I've gotten the kids involved in the decorating by having them
track in colorful autumn leaves from the front yard. The mud was their
idea.
The dining table will not be covered with expensive linens, fancy china,
or crystal goblets. If possible, we will use dishes that match and
everyone will get a fork. Since this IS Thanksgiving, we will refrain from
using the plastic Peter Rabbit plate and the Santa napkins from last
Christmas. Our centerpiece will not be the tower of fresh fruit and
flowers that I promised. Instead we will be displaying a hedgehog-like
decoration handcrafted from the finest construction
paper. The artist assures me it is a turkey.
We will be dining fashionably late. The children will entertain you while
you wait. I'm sure they will be happy to share every choice comment I have
made regarding Thanksgiving, pilgrims and the turkey hotline. Please
remember that most of these comments were made at 5:00 a.m. upon
discovering that the turkey was still hard enough to cut diamonds.
As accompaniment to the children's recital, I will play a recording of
tribal drumming. If the children should mention that I don't own a
recording of tribal drumming, or that tribal drumming sounds suspiciously
like a frozen turkey in a clothes dryer, ignore them. They are lying.
We toyed with the idea of ringing a dainty silver bell to announce the
start of our feast. In the end, we chose to keep our traditional method.
We've also decided against a formal seating arrangement. When the smoke
alarm sounds, please gather around the table and sit where you like. In
the spirit of harmony, we will ask the children to sit at a separate
table. In a separate room. Next door.
Now, I know you have all seen pictures of one person carving a turkey in
front of a crowd of appreciative onlookers. This will not be happening at
our dinner. For safety reasons, the turkey will be carved in a private
ceremony. I stress "private" meaning: Do not, under any circumstances,
enter the kitchen to laugh at me. Do not send small, unsuspecting children
to check on my progress. I have an electric knife. The turkey is unarmed.
It stands to reason that I will eventually win. When I do, we will eat. I
would like to take this opportunity to remind my young diners that
"passing the rolls" is not a football play. Nor is it a request to bean
your sister in the head with warm tasty bread. Oh, and one reminder for
the adults: For the
duration of the meal, and especially while in the presence of young
diners, we will refer to the giblet gravy by its lesser known name:
Cheese Sauce. If a young diner questions you regarding the origins or type
of Cheese Sauce, plead ignorance. Cheese Sauce stains.
I forget, there is one last change. Instead of offering a choice between
12 different scrumptious desserts, we will be serving the traditional
pumpkin pie, garnished with whipped cream and small fingerprints. You will
still have a choice; take it or leave it. Martha Stewart will not be
dining with us this Thanksgiving. She probably won't come next year either. I am thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving or whatever Harvest festival you are celebrating to all world wide. May your plates never be empty and your hearts always be full
Turkeys will thaw in the morning, then warm in the oven to an
afternoon high near F 190. The kitchen will turn hot and humid, and if
you bother the cook, be ready for a severe squall or cold shoulder.
During the late afternoon and evening, the cold front of a knife will
slice through the turkey, causing an accumulation of one to two inches
on plates. Mashed potatoes will drift across one side while cranberry
sauce creates slippery spots on the other. Please pass the gravy. A
weight watch and indigestion warning have been issued for the entire
area, with increased stuffiness around the beltway. During the
evening, the turkey will diminish and taper off to leftovers, dropping
to a low of 34F in the refrigerator.
Looking ahead to Friday and Saturday, high pressure to eat sandwiches
will be established. Flurries of leftovers can be expected both days
with a 50 percent chance of scattered soup late in the day. We expect
a warming trend where soup develops. By early next week, eating
pressure will be low as the only wish left will be the bone.
Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Colon Health -quoted
A poorly functioning colon can case sleeplessness, headaches, and constant fatigue among many other symptoms, what is happening is that your body is being poisoned. The following is What Everyone Needs To Know About Colon Health & How To Avoid The #3 Killer - Colorectal Cancer
By: Greg Ciola Source: http://www.healthtruthrevealed.com
This is probably the most comprehensive and concise explanation I've ever seen.
(1)
Your body’s ability to eliminate toxins and wastes determines your entire state of health. Did you know that every cell, organ, and system in your body is designed to bring in nutrition and fuel to survive, and eliminate waste when it’s done? A majority of this waste eventually ends up in your colon. While discussing the body’s intestinal system is not generally a topic people feel comfortable sharing with others, it’s one that cannot be ignored if you want to remain healthy or restore lost health.
The simple truth is that the human body was not designed to handle an overwhelming assault of fried, processed, packaged, microwaved or genetically modified foods. It also can’t handle large amounts of meat, pasteurized and homogenized dairy products, white flour, refined sugar, hydrogenated fats, soda, candy, cakes, artificial colors, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, pesticides, and a host of other ingestible products. All of these items can have a negative effect on your intestinal system and your health over time.
A healthy functioning gastrointestinal system is absolutely critical for good health. If your digestive system is not working perfectly it’s only a matter of time before you go back to the dust of the earth just as the scriptures proclaim. Proper digestion is essential to release the nutrients contained within our foods so they can be absorbed into the bloodstream and nourish the body’s cells with life. Proper elimination of metabolic wastes is also essential to keep the system clean and free of morbid wastes. Any malfunction in the digestive process can ultimately lead to a cellular malfunction, which given enough time, can lead to a complete system malfunction.
The human body is equipped with five major filtering/processing systems and elimination routes that are designed to expel wastes, process nutrients, regulate hormones, and keep the body functioning in a normal, healthy state. They are the gastrointestinal system (colon), liver, kidneys, skin, and lymphatic system. The gastrointestinal system, however, is probably the most important of the five because in many cases, without a healthy gastrointestinal system you are almost guaranteed that the other four bodily systems will be in serious trouble. Although we could spend a great deal of time focusing on each bodily system and its importance to our health, this particular article will focus on the role your intestinal system plays in health, and how you can keep it functioning optimally.
Here Are Some Interesting Facts About Colon Health
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in the U.S. Over 50,000 Americans die each year from this type of cancer. In men it ranks third in frequency behind lung and prostate cancer, and third in frequency behind lung and breast cancer in women. Colorectal cancer accounts for about 10% of all new cases of cancer each year and approximately 10% of all cancer deaths.
Experts estimate that over 20% of middle-age and older adults may have one or more colon polyps. Up to one in five Americans (approximately 60 million) has irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). IBS accounts for more than 1 out every 10 doctor visits. Some health experts have stated that every American will develop some type of colon disease, polyp, tumor, or colon cancer in their lifetime.
If you suffer from any of the following symptoms for an extended period of time you have reasons to be concerned.
• Diarrhea or constipation
• Rectal bleeding or blood in the stool
• Stools that are smaller in width than usual
• Abdominal gas and discomfort
• Frequent gas pains
• A feeling that the bowel never completely empties
• Unexplained weight loss
• Constant tiredness
• Unexplained anemia
Any one of these symptoms could indicate an intestinal disorder that needs attention. It could also be a sign of cancer.
The Role Of Flora & Intestinal Health
More and more health conscious consumers are becoming aware of the importance of intestinal flora when it comes to digestive health. Intestinal flora are colonies of microscopic bacteria found in both the small and large intestine. Nutritional supplements and foods that support the body’s flora are referred to as probiotics. The word probiotic actually has an interesting meaning. “Pro” means to be in favor of something. “Bio” is a prefix meaning life. When the two are put together into the word probiotic, it means to be in favor of life.
Probiotics are life giving aerobic bacteria that serve as the intestinal system’s clean-up crew. The definition of “aerobic” is anything that pertains to, or is caused by the presence of oxygen. Anything anaerobic either lacks oxygen or causes the destruction of oxygen. With probiotics we are talking about life-giving oxygen producing bacteria.
Everyone knows that oxygen is the most critical element for life. Every cell of the body requires oxygen to survive. Without oxygen we would be dead. Oxygen is also nature’s most effective sterilizer and deodorizer. What few realize is that oxygen generated by probiotics is what keeps your intestinal system disinfected and working properly. Without a healthy supply of flora, your health will spiral quickly downward. CellPower™ just happens to give each and every cell in our bodies a boost of oxygen.
A healthy intestinal system contains hundreds of different strains of friendly aerobic bacteria such as acidophilus, bifidus, plantarum, and bulgaricus to name a few, which release an abundance of nascent oxygen (hydrogen peroxide) to keep the intestinal system clean and anaerobic bacteria in check. In addition, flora supports the body’s immune system by thwarting off harmful bacteria and it supports the immune system’s front line defenders, such as your T-cells and natural killer cells. The whole battle of good and bad bacteria that determines health or sickness takes place primarily in your intestinal system. This is why proper digestion, waste removal, and flora balance is so critical when it comes to staying healthy or restoring lost health. Another function of flora is to synthesize certain nutrients such as vitamin K, biotin, and pantothentic acid. Flora can also produce almost all the B vitamins, including niacin, B6, B12, and folic acid, as well as make one B vitamin into another. CellPower™ has the best and safest antibiotic and anti-fungal properties, Silver coilloidals.
According to renowned health expert Dr. Robert O. Young in his book The pH Miracle:
“In a healthy, balanced human digestive system, you’d expect to find three to four pounds of probiotics. Unfortunately, I estimate that most people have less than 25% of the normal amount. Eating animal products and processed foods, ingesting chemicals, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, overeating, and excess stress of all types disrupt and weaken the probiotic colonies and compromise digestion. That, in turn, allows the overgrowth of symptom-causing microforms and all the problems that come along for the ride.” CellPower™ naturally adjusts the ph of the body to Slightly Alkaline.
If you’re like many, you’ve probably overindulged in far too many foods you know you shouldn’t have eaten. Over time, if not eliminated from the body, these foods can impact the colon and eventually ferment, putrefy, and stick to your colon wall like Plaster of Paris. There is only so much abuse your body can handle before it eventually becomes intoxicated and shuts down. One of the first signs of your health going down hill begins with gastrointestinal problems, which by the way are the number one complaint to doctors. If intestinal waste is not fully excreted from the body, over time it can wreak havoc on your health and negatively impact your flora, by causing it to literally suffocate from the overload. Once the body’s aerobic bacteria starts dying off, anaerobic bacteria will get the upper hand and things will start to deteriorate rapidly. It’s like knocking over a domino.
Flora’s Worst Enemy – ANTIOBIOTICS!
In light of the fact that the word probiotic means to be in favor of life, antibiotic has the exact opposite meaning. “Anti” means to be against. In other words, antibiotics are counterproductive to life itself. The main problem with antibiotics is that they cannot distinguish between good aerobic bacteria and unwanted anaerobic bacteria. Antibiotics kill off everything. Excessive use of antibiotics will literally destroy your health and wipe out your immune system.
If life and health are important to you, then you will do everything possible to avoid antibiotics, unless they are absolutely necessary to overcome a stubborn infection or keep you alive during a health crisis. If you’ve ever subjected your body to antibiotics it is imperative that you do an intestinal detox and take a round of probiotics. Many of the health problems people are enduring today can be directly attributed to the overuse of antibiotics.
Sadly, in their lack of understanding on how the human body functions, doctors are prescribing antibiotics like they’re candy. How many people run to the doctor at the sign of the first sniffle to get on a cycle of antibiotics, thinking it will do their body good? We need to question medical intervention a little further before putting things into our body that can potentially harm it. There are plenty of safe, natural alternatives that can do wonders for the body without harming your body’s delicate bacterial balance. Try the safe alternative to antibiotics:CellPower™.
When the body’s intestinal flora diminishes or dies off and the intestinal system is impacted with excess wastes and sludge, you’re more than likely on a slow, steady, downward trend toward serious health complications. As the intestinal system continues to degenerate, unwanted metabolic wastes can be absorbed through the colon wall and into the bloodstream flooding the body with free radicals and carcinogens. At this point, it’s now up to the kidneys, liver and lymphatic system to filter out this mess. But these vital systems can only handle so much abuse before they become overwhelmed and exhibit signs of trouble. Additionally, since many people live sedentary lives, they sweat very little thus denying themselves another powerful waste eliminator. In essence, a malfunctioning intestinal system can eventually lead to a complete system malfunction if not corrected.
Beware Of Parasites & Other Microorganisms
Another often overlooked problem with a colon that is impacted with putrefying, fermenting wastes and inadequate healthy flora is that it can become a breeding ground for unwanted microorganisms, such as parasites, viruses, fungus, flukes, and of course, anaerobic bacteria. These microorganisms fester in this mess as a source of food because your body didn’t do the job.
A perfect analogy of what can happen internally is if you were to leave a pile of dirty dishes in the sink with food crumbs and debris lying around your house for an extended period of time. What do you think would happen? Your home will be invaded with cockroaches, ants, and other microscopic scavengers. Similar things take place in the human body when unwanted wastes and debris are lying around for extended periods of time without being properly eliminated. It’s time we started putting the same kind of focus on internal cleanliness as we do on external cleanliness.
Over the last decade many alternative doctors and nutritionists have been treating parasitic problems in humans, and have linked them directly to a vast array of ailments. Some health researchers estimate that over 90% of the population has parasites residing in their body. Usually we only associate harmful microorganisms with third world countries where the water and food is not always safe. Better think again! Health endangering scavengers could be feeding on, and breeding in, your impacted metabolic waste.
Mucus Doesn’t Only Come From Your Lungs & Nose
To compound the intestinal assault, harmful heavy metals and toxins consumed from your diet force the body into another serious protective reaction. The body will create a mucus film that goes from the tongue straight throughout the intestines in order to stop toxins from making their way into the bloodstream. People with a thick mucus coating on their intestines usually have a noticeable white film on their tongues. As more and more toxins come into the body, more mucus will be produced. Over time, this mucus film can become thicker and harder, and eventually wreak havoc within the intestines.
When digestion isn’t working properly, and food and wastes aren’t being eliminated, you run the risk of autointoxication, a $10 word for self-poisoning. This condition can literally starve the cells in your body by blocking them from receiving their nutrition, eventually causing severe malnutrition. All the supplements in the world will do nothing for your body if the intestinal system is in a state of disarray. Constipation, irregular bowel movements, irritable bowel syndrome, bloating, gas, nutritional deficiencies, and other intestinal related problems are in many cases the result of an intestinal system that has been overloaded and is heading for a complete breakdown.
The good news is that there are many things that you can do to reverse this trend and get back on track to health and wellness. Remember – it’s not God’s will that we suffer from all manner of physical ailments. It’s His will that we walk in health all the days of our life.
Things You Must Do To Detoxify & Support Your Intestinal System
Hopefully by now you understand why it is so crucial to address intestinal health. Here are a few things that can be done to clean out excess wastes, rebuild your system, and maintain a healthy gastrointestinal system.
1. Start taking Probiotics: There are many good probiotic supplements on the market to choose from that can help rebuild your intestinal flora. It is important to first do a cleanse of the intestinal system in order to get the bowels working more consistently if you’re constipated, and to get rid of excess waste so there is fertile ground for the probiotics to colonize.
2. Take Digestive enzymes after each meal: Most people are severely enzyme deficient and aren’t adequately breaking their food down that they eat, causing digestive problems and malnourishment. The best way to get enzymes into the body is to start eating more raw organic fruits and vegetables that contain an abundance of life-giving enzymes. Almost all cooked foods and packaged foods are devoid of enzymes. This puts unwanted stress on the body because it has to use its bank of enzyme reserves to break the food down. In addition, it is important to take a high quality full spectrum enzyme supplement after each meal that helps break down protein, fats, and carbohydrates. Enzyme supplements assist the body in breaking food down more effectively so partially digested foods don’t get stuck in the intestinal system causing weight gain. This is a big reason why people have constipation and intestinal build-up, especially those consuming high meat diets where the food didn’t fully break down.
I recommend eating 1/3 of the diet raw, the enzymes are in there, they are also in:CellPower™.
3. Eat more fermented foods: There are some very beneficial fermented foods such as sauerkraut, organically cultured yogurt, cheese, Kefer, sourdough bread, pickles, Tempeh, and Miso to name a few that can help the body tremendously with digestion. Fermentation is a process that activates the enzymes in food and allows bacteria, yeasts and molds to “predigest” which helps break down the proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Fermentation dates back thousands of years and was used to extend the life of food and to enhance flavor. It can do amazing things for your overall digestive health. Researchers believe that the longevity of many in the Far East can be attributed to a lot of the fermented foods they eat regularly. Only recently have more in the West taken a closer look at how fermented foods support the intestinal system and the body’s overall health. In some cases certain foods cannot release their nutritional properties unless they are fermented. Soybeans are a great example of this. The only way you should eat soybeans is in a fermented state. Any other form will not be beneficial and could actually be dangerous.
I disagree with this part I wouldn't risk eating any soy for any reason, most of it is genetically modified and is not recognized by the body as real food.
4. Learn more about eating foods in proper combination: Improper food combinations can be linked to many diseases. This is an area where few people know what to do yet it could have a profound impact on your health. For example, you shouldn’t consume proteins and starches at the same time. Fruit should be eaten separately from all other food. Fruits and vegetables should not be eaten together. There’s a statement about melons that you’ve probably heard before: “Eat it alone or leave it alone.” There are some excellent books on the market that can help you in this department. You should visit a health food store or do some research online to help you in this area as it is vitally important if you want your body to be in balance and functioning at a high state of health.
5. Do a complete intestinal cleanse: Seasonal detoxification is something everyone should do in order to rid the body of excessive wastes and keep the digestive system operational. It’s similar to an oil and lube change. If you change your oil every 3,000 miles on your vehicle and keep your transmission and other engine parts properly lubricated, your vehicle should run much better and last a lot longer than it would if you didn’t do this. The human body is no different. We need to periodically cleanse out our wastes. It doesn’t matter if you’re eating the healthiest foods in the world and living your best or if you’ve overloaded your body with unhealthy foods. The fact is we live in a toxic world and unless you eat everything perfect, you probably need to do an intestinal cleanse once in a while. If you are having intestinal related problems (i.e. gas, bloating, cramps, indigestion, acid reflux, etc.) you need to do at least a 30 to 60 day colon cleanse and more frequent maintenance after that. There are many different ways to cleanse your intestinal system. You can use herbs like senna, fiber, psyllium, Aloe, high roughage, colonics, etc. incorporate the cleansing and detoxification recommendations into your health program.
The Los Angeles Police Dept., the FBI and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are the best at apprehending criminals. The President decides to give them a test. He releases a rabbit into a forest and each of them has to catch it.
TheCIA goes in. They place animal informants throughout the forest. They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of extensive investigation, they conclude that rabbits do not exist.
The FBI goes in. After two weeks with no leads, they burn the forest, killing everything in it -- including the rabbit -- and make no apologies. Their press release on their "successful operation" notes "The rabbit had it coming."
The LAPD goes in. They come out two hours later with a badly beaten bear. The bear is yelling, "OK, OK -- I'm a rabbit, I'm a rabbit!"
A hunter took his buddy bird hunting to show how his dog could pin point birds and relay the messages to them.
The dog went into the brush, came back whining. What's he whining, the buddy ask. He's trying to tell us the few birds that are in there are not worth the effort.
Into the brush and back again, the dog came sniffing and grunting. He's trying to tell us we are getting hot on the trail of a flock of birds worth out while.
The next time the dog came out from the brush, he was grabbing sticks and growling, and shaking the fire out of them, and grunting and just throwing an awful excited fit.
What's the dog doing acting in a crazy manner like that, the buddy ask?
He's trying to tell us there are more birds in there than you can shake a stick at!
