Peripheral Neuropathy

Neuropathy is a disorder of the peripheral nerves—the motor, sensory and autonomic nerves that connect the spinal cord to muscles, skin and internal organs. It usually affects the hands and feet, causing weakness, numbness, tingling and pain.

(1)
Peripheral Neuropathy is one of the most common diseases most people have never heard of…in fact, upwards of 20 million Americans have it.

Peripheral neuropathy is caused by damage to your body’s peripheral nerves.
This damage disrupts the body’s ability to communicate with its muscles, skin, joints, or internal organs. It is like the body’s wiring system breaking down. If ignored, neuropathy can lead to numbness, pain, weakness and incoordination. However, if it is diagnosed and treated early, peripheral neuropathy can often be controlled, slowing the disease’s progression.

It usually include autoimmune disorders, tumors, heredity, nutritional imbalances, infections or toxins. about 30% of the time it's caused by diabetes.

Some types can be cured but most cannot, there are therapies that can help. Be sure to get to your neurologist right away so you can take drugs.... Ok so what if you won't take drugs, why does it happen, how can we cope and even help the problem.

The four major forms of nerve damage are polyneuropathy, autonomic neuropathy, mononeuropathy, and mononeuritis multiplex. The most common form is peripheral polyneuropathy, which mainly affects the feet and legs.

Often the form of neuropathy is further broken down as to cause (see below), or other type, such as small fiber peripheral neuropathy, which is idiopathic [a double=speak Doctorism meaning "who knows where it came from".]

Peripheral nerves, either singly or in groups, are damaged through lack of circulation, chemical imbalance, trauma, or other factors.

If you have the problem from Diabetes, get rid of the Diabetes, I'm trying, I'm trying. I have had weird sharp pains in my toes, it feels like the toenail is separating violently from the toe, but it's been going on for much longer than I've had Diabetes, unless I've had it for years unknown.

I've read the problem only gets worse without some form of therapy, I believe mine was caused by shoes that don't fit, but then shoes never actially fit my feet. I used to tell my daughter I had to buy my shoes from the "Funny-Shaped Foot Shoppe", say That three times fast. My feet are high-wide and very short, they are nearly square. If I find a shoe wide enough the arch is in the wrong place, I have a very high arch and my toes are extremely short. I also walk with my ankles bent outwards when I'm tired, so my shoes have a tendancy to be walked over on the outsides and my little toe has no sole under it, then a stone or stick will really hurt when I walk on it. I had no idea until recently that other people didn't have this problem, or that there might be something I could do about it, I've just had to buy whatever shoe didn't hurt too bad.

Other (2)
common causes of Peripheral Neuropathy are:herpes zoster infection, HIV-AIDS, toxins, alcoholism, chronic trauma (such as repetitive motion disorders) or acute trauma (including surgery), various neurotoxins and autoimmune conditions such as celiac disease, which can account for approximately 16% of small fiber neuropathy cases.[1] Neuropathic pain is common in cancer as a direct result of the cancer on peripheral nerves (e.g., compression by a tumor), as a side effect of many chemotherapy drugs, and as a result of electrical injury. In many cases the neuropathy is "idiopathic," meaning no cause is found. A form of spinal nerve entrapment called Posterior Rami Syndrome can lead to neuropathic pain.

Oh great more good news.

(3)
More than 100 types of peripheral neuropathy have been identified, each with its own characteristic set of symptoms, pattern of development, and prognosis. Impaired function and symptoms depend on the type of nerves -- motor, sensory, or autonomic -- that are damaged. Some people may experience temporary numbness, tingling, and pricking sensations, sensitivity to touch, or muscle weakness. Others may suffer more extreme symptoms, including burning pain (especially at night), muscle wasting, paralysis, or organ or gland dysfunction. Peripheral neuropathy may be either inherited or acquired. Causes of acquired peripheral neuropathy include physical injury (trauma) to a nerve, tumors, toxins, autoimmune responses, nutritional deficiencies, alcoholism, and vascular and metabolic disorders. Acquired peripheral neuropathies are caused by systemic disease, trauma from external agents, or infections or autoimmune disorders affecting nerve tissue. Inherited forms of peripheral neuropathy are caused by inborn mistakes in the genetic code or by new genetic mutations.

And here we see some hope, while there is no existing treatment for inherited Peripheral Neuropathy, often weight loss, exercise, and a good diet will alleviate much of the problem.

(3)
In acute neuropathies, such as Guillain-Barré syndrome, symptoms appear suddenly, progress rapidly, and resolve slowly as damaged nerves heal. In chronic forms, symptoms begin subtly and progress slowly. Some people may have periods of relief followed by relapse. Others may reach a plateau stage where symptoms stay the same for many months or years. Some chronic neuropathies worsen over time, but very few forms prove fatal unless complicated by other diseases. Occasionally the neuropathy is a symptom of another disorder.

Taking very good care of feet and hands will really help to keep the tissues of those extremities healthy, even if the nerves are going nuts the flesh can remain whole.

For me shoes are part of the problem, so I try hard to keep my floors nice and clean and spend my indoor time barefootin'. Lately I've noticed that my hands and feet actually get cold, prior to just the last fewyears I never had a problem with that. I also try to find the best shoes I can get for outdoor time.

I also believe the oxygenating effects of CellPower™ cellpower~natural cures, natural alternative medicine, body rescue alkalizing, most alkalizing, alkalizing drops, body ph health<br />natural healing, cell health, oxygenate, cellpower, detoxify to really be keeping my nerves healthier than they would be if I weren't taking it. ~~~~Jokes And inspiration~~~~
CURTAIN RODS----PRICELESS

She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates and suitcases.

On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.

On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candle-light, put on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of spring-water.

When she had finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimp shells dipped in caviar into the hollow of the curtain rods.

She then cleaned up the kitchen and left. When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the first few days.

Then slowly, the house began to smell.

They tried everything; cleaning, mopping and airing the place out.

Vents were checked for dead rodents and carpets were steam cleaned.

Air fresheners were hung everywhere. Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which they had to move out for a few days and in the end they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting.

Nothing worked!!!

People stopped coming over to visit.
Repairmen refused to work in the house.
The maid quit.

Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.

A month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky house.

Word got out and eventually even the local realtors refused to return their calls.

Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place.

The ex-wife called the man and asked how things were going.

He told her the saga of the rotting house. She listened politely and said that she missed her old home terribly and would be willing to reduce her divorce settlement in exchange for getting the house back.

Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on a price e that was about 1/10th of what the house had been worth, but only if she were to sign the papers that very day.

She agreed and within the hour his lawyers delivered the paperwork.

A week later the man and his girlfriend stood smiling as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home.........

And to spite the ex-wife, they even took the curtain rods!!!!!!

Subject: Prospective Employee Assessment

To: All Managers

The following guidelines shall be used when hiring new personnel.

Take the prospective employees you are trying to place and put them in a room with only a table and two chairs. Leave them alone for two hours, without any instruction. At the end of that time, go back and see what they are doing.

If they have taken the table apart in that time, put them in Engineering.
If they are counting the butts in the ashtray, assign them to Finance.
If they are screaming and waving their arms, send them off to Manufacturing.
If they are talking to the chairs, Personnel is a good spot for them.
If they are sleeping, they are Management material.
If they are writing up the experience, send them to Technical Publications.
If they don't even look up when you enter the room, assign them to Security.
If they try to tell you it's not as bad as it looks, send them to Marketing.
And if they have left early, put them in Sales.

~~
Waiter: "Tea or coffee, ladies?"

First customer: "I'll have tea."

Second customer: "Me, too. And be sure the cup is clean!"

(Waiter exits, returns) Waiter: "Two teas. Who asked for the clean cup?"

MORE ON THE IMMUNE SYSTEM PLUS GOOD NEWS!.....

I know, I know you've read enough about the immune system but I found a great site that explains it so well. I will try to condense it a bit for easier reading.

(1)Our first line of defence is in our mucus membranes~mucous membranes like your mouth, nose, throat and intestines, it's called secretory IgA (sIgA).

If a Pathogen gets past the (sIgA) it then has to deal with T-killer cells (CD8) and antibody-producing B cells, producing antibodies and fighting the attack of the invader.

Then we have something called
NK cells, or Natural Killer cells, get their name because they're like your immune system's secret police force.

They work a lot like your T and B killer cells, roaming your body looking for pathogen-infected cells. But when they find them, a process called apoptosis takes place. In essence...

The NK cell forces the infected cell to commit suicide!"

It's hard to believe that anyone could get sick isn't it?

Yet with our stress-ridden world filled with oxidents and free radicals that threaten; with it's liver overloading power to overwhelm us, It's nice to know that we can get something that will really help to boost our immune system. I used to get bronchitis every few weeks, long sleepless nights [fighting to breathe] making life miserable and healing time lengthened, I haven't had it for months now. Whether it was the cell power or not I don't care I found the winning combo, CellPower™

will help both the skin and the insides regain their normal pH.

Another great idea is coconut oil for weight maintenance or even losing weight and to balance the omega-3’s and omega-6’s, the essential fatty acids.

THE FOUR ESSENTIAL MINERALS FOR HEALING, of special concern for diabetics:

SELENIUM,MAGNESIUM,CHROMIUM, and ZINC.

I'm down from 22 different kinds of supplements to just the above. And trust me I needed to take them all just to stay alive, now I worry so much less and if I miss some supplement for a time it's really no big deal.

Here's some good news amongst the plethora of bad news we always get....

(2)
As waistlines increase so does the spread of type 2 diabetes, but an Iranian study has shown that Silybum marianum (silymarin) -- an antioxidant extracted from milk thistle seeds -- can help treat the condition, and its flavolignans can also protect the liver.

(3)
Just half a teaspoon of cinnamon a day significantly reduces blood sugar levels in diabetics, a new study has found. The effect, which can be produced even by soaking a cinnamon stick your tea, could also benefit millions of non-diabetics who have blood sugar problem but are unaware of it.

I just add lots of it to my daily oatmeal, but you can buy the caps to take after each meal. Cinnamon in caps
