************SALBA***********

Salba you have heard about this wonder food I know, Salba - Nature's Perfect Whole Food Omega 3s, Fiber, Antioxidants, & Much More...
Salba is the richest whole food source of Omega 3 fatty acids and fiber found in nature. Gram for gram, Salba provides eight times more Omega 3s than salmon, four times more fiber than flax, six times more calcium than whole milk, 13 times more antioxidants than blueberries, and much more. Salba is all-natural, has no trans-fats, very few carbohydrates, and is certified Non-GMO, Vegan, Kosher, and Gluten-Free for those who suffer from celiac disease.

It's good to get your innards moving all regular and to get you some real get-up-and-go And it has all those lovely Omega-3's that keep us all so healthy. It's better than other foods that have great essential fatty acids. Oh and the white is good, black is bad, but that's NOT the whole story....

Salba® is a trademark, and it's even better known as Chia. Now I checked the charts and black chia is only marginally less nutritious than the white and it's cheaper too, just like the chia is so much cheaper than Salba. I buy mine at Hildalgo. I do not get a kickback from them so buy it if you like OR don't- I don't care, but it's the best company to get chia from I've seen so far.

The best way to eat it is ground, I buy it whole so I grind it in my food processor, I use it in my
Special Healthy Candy

3 tbs cocoa powder
2 tbs coconut oil
3 tbs, raw honey
2 tbs chia seed whole or 1 tbs ground
handful of berries, raw nuts, sliced peaches or other fruit,
two caps of vanilla
1 cap of almond extract
mix it up good and eat, yummy!

I also put chia on my fried eggs, just to add the chia to my diet and also to the veggie pulp crackers I make in my dehydrator after I get lots of pulp from juicing every day.

I'm also growing some chia in my garden to manufacture more seeds.

I hope all of you find ways to put chia in your diet, let me know of ways to use it, I'd love to know, Oh, by the way, I used to have a terrible constipation problem, not any more!

I'm still using: SELENIUMhelps immune system,fights infection and aids circulation

Two old Jewish men, Sid and Al, are sitting in a Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles one day.
Sid asks Al, "Do you know of any people of our faith born and raised in Mexico?"
Al replies, "I don't know, let's ask our waiter."
When the waiter arrives, Al asks, "Are there any Mexican Jews?"
The waiter says, "I don't know senor, I ask the cooks" He returns from the kitchen after a few minutes and says, "No senor, the cook say no
Mexican Jews."
Al isn't satisfied and asks, "Are you absolutely sure?"
The waiter, realizing he is dealing with "Gringos" replies, "I check once again, Senor!" and goes back into the kitchen.
While the waiter is away, Sid says, "I find it hard to believe that there are no Jews in Mexico. Our people are scattered everywhere."
The waiter returns and says, "Senor, the head cook Tom say there is no Mexican Jews."
"Are you certain?" Al asks again. "I just can't believe there are no Mexican Jews!"
"SENOR, I ask EVERYONE," replies the exasperated waiter, " All we have is Orange Jews, Grape Jews, Prune Jews, and Tomato Jews

ROOM 302

A sweet grandmother telephoned St. Joseph's Hospital. She timidly asked,
'Is it possible to speak to someone who can tell me how a patient is
doing?'
The operator said, 'I'll be glad to help, dear. What's the name and room
number?'
The grandmother in her weak tremulous voice said, 'Norma Findlay, Room
302.'
The operator replied, 'Let me place you on hold while I check with her
nurse.'
After a few minutes the operator returned to the phone and said, 'Good
news. Her nurse has told me that Norma is doing very well. Her blood
pressure is fine. Her blood work just came back as normal and her
physician, Dr. Cohen, has scheduled her to be discharged Tuesday.'
The grandmother said, 'Thank you. That's wonderful! I was so worried!
God bless you for the good news.'
The operator replied, 'You're more than welcome. Is Norma your daughter?'
The Grandmother said, 'No, I'm Norma Findlay in 302. No one tells me
NOTHIN'.

Comfortable
Two sisters, one blonde and one brunette, inherit the family ranch. Unfortunately, after just a few years, they are in financial trouble.
In order to keep the bank from repossessing the ranch, they need to purchase a bull so that they can breed their own stock.
The brunette balances their checkbook, then takes their last $600 dollars out west to another ranch where a man has a prize bull for sale. Upon leaving, she tells her sister, "When I get there, if I decide to buy the bull, I'll contact you to drive out after me and haul it home."
The brunette arrives at the man's ranch, inspects the bull, and decides she does want to buy it. The man tells her that he can sell it for $599, no less.
After paying him, she drives to the nearest town to send her sister a telegram to tell her the news. She walks into the telegraph office, and says, "I want to send a telegram to my sister telling her that I've bought a bull for our ranch. I need her to hitch the trailer to our pick-up truck and drive out here so we can haul it home."
The telegraph operator explains that he'll be glad to help her, then adds, "It's just 99 cents a word." Well, with only $1 left after paying for the bull, the brunette realizes that she'll only be able to send her sister one word.
After thinking for a few minutes, she nods, and says, "I want you to send her the word, 'comfortable.'"
The telegraph operator shakes his head. "How is she ever going to know that you want her to hitch the trailer to your pick-up truck and drive out here to haul that bull back to your ranch if you send her the word, 'comfortable?'"
The brunette explains, "My sister's blonde. She'll read it slow."

WHAT IS HEALTH?

Sign-up for the weekly newsletter digest that is packed with the latest news in healthy living, you need this resource interactive

********************WHAT IS HEALTH?******************
Everyone's definition is probably different depending on your health or lack of it at any given moment. I was last healthy when I was 18, yet still there were some things I'd like to have changed. Someone lying in a hospital bed in pain might see health is the absense of pain. A runner with Asthma might say he sees health as being able to breath. In short we all have our own measurement. But Science defines it like this: Health is Metabolic efficiency, When every thing is working properly. No one is perfectly healthy, we all have our own efficencies and ineffecencies, a blend that is unique to each of us.
ONE MAN'S ASSESSMENT
(1)
*Health to me is waking up energized to be able to accomplish anything I wish.
*Health is being able to answer questions that will make me a better person–without reluctance or playing small.
*Health is a lifestyle not something that you get or achieve.
*Health is being flexible–in mind and body.
*Health is the ability to enjoy adventure.
*Health at its true core is a means to live a life worth writing about in books.

Physical health is tied to Mental health:
(2)
As we grow up, we learn that we are loved for our abilities but hated for our disabilities. This happens at home, at play, at school, and at work. Sometimes, this even happens with our doctors, especially if our disabilities mystify them or remind them of their own disabilities.
So, we try to hide our disabilities from people and from ourselves. This charade undermines our relationships and our self-esteem. We learn to fear society and hate ourselves.

Health has a lot to do with the care and nourishment of our bodies. Taking in the correct nutrients for a living body are as important as not trying to use water to power your vehicle. Each nutrient we chew up and swallow forms a part of the building blocks necessary to maintain health, or if it's not good food it will be part of our problems whatever they may be. Computer people call it GIGO, garbage in=garbage out, Nutritionists say: You are what you eat.

Health-The state of being hale, sound, or whole, in body, mind, or soul; especially, the state of being free from physical disease or pain.

Mental health is related to physical health; the power of the mind can most assuredly affect one's physical health. I knew a lady once who felt so inferior that she hated herself with a strong passion, her body responded to her by slowly killing her. Her health deteriorated to the point of nearly death. Someone pointed out that she needed to revise her thoughts and her body followed, she is on the road to health now, she has improved by at least 70%.

The above quote about hiding our disabilities was part of my own experience. I used to try hard to mask the problems I was having because of the stroke I had. My memory has always been terribly bad since then but I tried to hide it and the muscle-spasming that tortured my body. The harder I tried to hide it the worse it became and the more I hated myself for my inabilities.

All of these conflicting emotions made staying healthy impossible, but with a new attitude and new eating habits I'm turing a terrible situation into one that is being corrected rapidly.

I take CellPower™ because for one thing it does have lots of digestive enzymes in it, also it helps to balance the pH levels and is antibiotic, anti-viral-and anti-fungal AND IT PACKS THE CELLS WITH LIFE-GIVING OXYGEN, AND ENERGY.

*The greatest wealth is health. ~Virgil
*Life expectancy would grow by leaps and bounds if green vegetables smelled as good as bacon. ~Doug Larson
*Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. ~World Health Organization, 1948
*The power of love to change bodies is legendary, built into folklore, common sense, and everyday experience. Love moves the flesh, it pushes matter around.... Throughout history, "tender loving care" has uniformly been recognized as a valuable element in healing. ~Larry Dossey
*As a people, we have become obsessed with Health. There is something fundamentally, radically unhealthy about all this. We do not seem to be seeking more exuberance in living as much as staving off failure, putting off dying. We have lost all confidence in the human body. ~Lewis Thomas, The Medusa and the Snail, 1979
*The best six doctors anywhere
And no one can deny it
Are sunshine, water, rest, and air
Exercise and diet.
These six will gladly you attend
If only you are willing
Your mind they'll ease
Your will they'll mend
And charge you not a shilling.

Vow of Silence
At a remote monastery deep in the woods, the monks followed a rigid vow of silence. This vow could only be broken once a year on Christmas, by one monk, and the monk could speak only one sentence.
One Christmas, Brother Thomas had his turn to speak and said, "I love the delightful mashed potatoes we have every year with the Christmas roast!" Then he sat down. Silence ensued for 365 days.
The next Christmas, Brother Michael got his turn, and said, "I think the mashed potatoes are lumpy and I truly despise them!" Once again, silence ensued for 365 days.
The following Christmas, Brother Paul rose and said, "I am fed up with this constant bickering!"

My friend asked a crop-duster, how his day had gone. "It was the worst day of my life," replied the man. "This morning I was up in my plane dusting a field when I nicked a power line and damaged the wing of the plane. When I got back to the office, my boss chewed me out. Then the guy from the FAA chewed me out. On my way home, I stopped off at a bar and was handed a warm beer. So I yelled at the bartender, 'Don't you have any cold beers?'
The bartender said, 'Sorry, but we've been out of electricity all day ever since some idiot crop-duster hit a power line down the road.'"

Actual Letter from [someone] who farms in Kansas .........
I had this idea that I was going to rope a deer, put it in a stall, feed
it up on corn for a couple of weeks, then kill it and eat it. The first step in this adventure was getting a deer. I figured that since they congregated at my cattle feeder and do not seem to have much fear of me when we are there (a bold one will sometimes come right up and sniff at the bags of feed while I am in the back of the truck not 4 feet away) that it should not be difficult to rope one, get up to it and toss a bag over its head (to calm it down) then hog tie it and transport it home. I filled the cattle feeder then hid down at the end with my rope. The cattle, who had seen the roping thing before, stayed well back. They
were not having any of it. After about 20 minutes my deer showed up - 3 of them.
I picked out a likely looking one, stepped out from the end of the feeder, and threw my rope. The deer just stood there and stared at me. I wrapped the rope around my waist and twisted the end so I would have a good hold. The deer still just stood and stared at me, but you could tell it was mildly concerned about the whole rope situation. I took a step towards it...it took a step away. I put a little tension on the rope and received an education.
The first thing that I learned is that while a deer may just stand there looking at you funny while you rope it, they are spurred to action when you start pulling on that rope. That deer EXPLODED.
The second thing I learned is that pound for pound, a deer is a LOT stronger than a cow or a colt. A cow or a colt in that weight range I could fight down with a rope with some dignity. A deer, no chance.
That thing ran and bucked and twisted and pulled. There was no controlling it and certainly no getting close to it. As it jerked me off my feet and started dragging me across the ground, it occurred to me
that having a deer on a rope was not nearly as good an idea as I originally imagined.
The only up side is that they do not have as much stamina as many animals. A brief 10 minutes later, it was tired and not nearly as quick to jerk me off my feet and drag me when I managed to get up. It took me a few minutes to realize this, since I was mostly blinded by the blood flowing out of the big gash in my head.
At that point I had lost my taste for corn fed venison. I just wanted to
get that devil creature off the end of that rope. I figured if I just let it go with the rope hanging around its neck, it would likely die slow and painfully somewhere. At the time, there was no love at all between me and that deer. At that moment, I hated the thing and I would venture a guess that the feeling was mutual.
Despite the gash in my head and the several large knots where I had cleverly arrested the deer's momentum by bracing my head against various
large rocks as it dragged me across the ground, I could still think clearly enough to recognize that there was a small chance that I shared some tiny amount of responsibility for the situation we were in, so I
didn't want the deer to have it suffer a slow death so I managed to get it lined back up in between my truck and the feeder - a little trap I had set before hand. Kind of like a squeeze chute.
I got it to back in there and started moving up so I could get my rope back.

Did you know that deer bite? They do! I never in a million years would have thought that a deer would bite somebody so I was very surprised when I reached up there to grab that rope and the deer grabbed hold of
my wrist. Now, when a deer bites you, it is not like being bit by a horse where they just bite you and then let go. A deer bites you and shakes its head - almost like a pit bull.
They bite HARD and it hurts.
The proper thing to do when a deer bites you is probably to freeze and draw back slowly. I tried screaming and shaking instead. My method was
ineffective. It seems like the deer was biting and shaking for several minutes, but it was likely only several seconds. I, being smarter than a deer (though you may be questioning that claim by now) tricked it.
While I kept it busy tearing the stuffin' out of my right arm, I reached up with my left hand and pulled that rope loose.
That was when I got my final lesson in deer behavior for the day. Deer will strike at you with their front feet. They rear right up on their back feet and strike right about head and shoulder level, and their
hooves are surprisingly sharp. I learned a long time ago that when an> animal like a horse strikes at you with their hooves and you can't get away easily, the best thing to do is try to make a loud noise and make
an aggressive move towards the animal. This will usually cause them to back down a bit so you can escape. This was not a horse. This was a deer, so obviously such trickery would not work. In the course of a
millisecond I devised a different strategy. I screamed like a woman and tried to turn and run.
The reason I had always been told NOT to try to turn and run from a horse that paws at you is that there is a good chance that it will hit you in the back of the head. Deer may not be so different from horses
after all, besides being twice as strong and three times as evil, because the second I turned to run, it hit me right in the back of the head and knocked me down.
Now when a deer paws at you and knocks you down it does not immediately leave. I suspect it does not recognize that the danger has passed What
they do instead is paw your back and jump up and down on you while you are laying there crying like a little girl and covering your head.
I finally managed to crawl under the truck and the deer went away. Now for the local legend. I was pretty beat up. My scalp was split open, I had several large goose eggs, my wrist was bleeding pretty good and felt
broken (it turned out to be just badly bruised) and my back was bleeding in a few places, though my insulated canvas jacket had protected me from most of the worst of it. I drove to the nearest place, which was the co-op. I got out of the truck, covered in blood and dust and looking like hell. The guy who ran the place saw me through the window and came running out yelling 'what happened?'
I have never seen any law in the state of Kansas that would prohibit an individual from roping a deer. I suspect that this is an area that they have overlooked entirely. Knowing, as I do, the lengths to which law
enforcement personnel will go to exercise their power, I was concerned that they may find a way to twist the existing laws to paint my actions as criminal. I swear...not wanting to admit that I had done something
monumentally stupid played no part in my response. I told him 'I was attacked by a deer'. I did not mention that at the time I had a rope on it.
The evidence was all over my body. Deer prints on the back of my jacket where it had stomped all over me and a large deer print on my face where it had struck me there. I asked him to call somebody to come get me. I
didn't think I could make it home on my own. He did. Later that afternoon, a game warden showed up at my house and wanted to know about the deer attack. Surprisingly, deer attacks are a rare thing and
wildlife and parks was interested in the event. I tried to describe the attack as completely and
accurately as I could. I was filling the grain hopper and this deer came out of nowhere and just started kicking the hell out of me and BIT me.
It was obviously rabid or insane or something.
EVERYBODY for miles around knows about the deer attack (the guy at the co-op has a big mouth). For several weeks people dragged their kids in
the house when they saw deer around and the local ranchers carried rifles when they filled their feeders. I have told several people the story, but NEVER anybody around here. I have to see these people every day and as an outsider - a 'city folk'. I have enough trouble fitting in without them snickering behind my back and whispering 'there is the crazy who tried to rope the deer.'

**************THE REST OF THE STORY*******************************
I used to hunt thru' old books on herbal cures and newer publications for hints of old remedies.

I'd get junk mail with headlines like:
~LOWER YOUR BLOOD SUGAR WITH A COMMON HERB FROM YOUR CUPBOARD.see pg 345
~WHAT OLD-FASHIONED 'MEDICINE' WILL GET RID OF THOSE ACHES AND PAINS? see page 421
~LOWER YOUR CHOLESTEROL LEVELS WITH THESE EASY TO TAKE COMMON FOODS.see page 112

Now all of those are a come-on to get you to buy their book, but I'll tell you how to do all of those things for free and give you the whole story, because none of those things are a real cure, they are mere hints of tiny helps to point you in the right direction to getting healthy. No, I didn't say healthier, I said Healthy, AND IT'S NOT TOO LATE!

First to answer the three questions from the junk mail, it is cinnamon, cod lover oil, Garlic and onions. But There is so much more to tell about each one, it's not just sprinkle a bitty bit of cinnamon on your morning toast, for instance, it requires about a teaspoon. And make sure your cinnamon is pure. Your body won't thank you for loading up on pesticide-laden spices, nor Genetically modified foods or, highly processed ones, If your cinnamon has been cooked or irradiated it might be worthless......

Here is anther tip for lowering blood glucose, I juice three stalks of celery per day it really takes the blood sugar levels down quickly. I eat a protein breakfast with an apple snack so I'm balancing my food groups without a lot of counting and bother, I'm doing a lo-carb, emphasis on raw veggie/fruits. I'm doing a purifying diet this week so we'll see how it goes. I know I feel so much better eating very little, I also know I may be terribly hungry but it's only a week, but then it might stretch out more....

I hear people [oh yes and myself] wingeing about oh I'll miss my "this food" or "that food", "I can't give up my pizza." "I love sweets way too much to quit eating cake[insert your favorite here]". "I just can't go without my MSG laden foods, they taste so good."

But we [yes, I include myself in this] can make this decision. Will I cut down on the bad stuff, even cut it out to live? Will I rather be puking my guts up and running to the bathroom with diarrhea every few minutes with Chemo-therapy or radiation as I watch my self slip away,[oh no, it's not a pleasant death I assure you] or see my body turn into one huge pain factory? Would I rather spend my last five years drooling on myself at the mercy of strangers in a wheel chair?

My parents [both sets] died after prolonged illnesses [prolonged means it took a
lo-o-ong time to die BTW] they all had Cancer, my adoptive parents and my birth/step parents in great pain and heartache. My step-father hurt so bad the last few weeks he cried constantly. My birth mother, who was also diabetic and had refused to deal properly with her diabetes [her home was filled with candy goodies, when I cleaned it up after she died] lay in a hospital bed surrounded by filth, [a bad nursing home] she finally contracted MRSA, was too weak to fight it and knew nothing but pain her final five weeks. She had wizened up to a tiny frail bald thing, in her bed the last time I saw her.

So, here's the thing. Either we accept that life is worth living, oh; and the healthier food actually tastes better when you've lost the toxins from the
modern-diet foods,and we make a change towards healthier foods, and the change can be as gradual as you'd like; depending on, of course how sick you really are.

Diabetic help
(1)
=>Eating in a way that balances your blood sugar, reduces inflammation and oxidative stress, and improves your liver detoxification is the key to preventing and reversing insulin resistance and diabetes.

=>It is a way of eating that includes anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and detoxifying foods. It includes plenty of omega-3 fats and olive oil, beans, nuts, and seeds.

=>All these foods help prevent and reverse diabetes and insulin resistance. This is the way of eating than turns on all the right gene messages, promotes a healthy metabolism, and prevents aging and age-related diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

Here are more specifics.

Meal Timing

Eat protein for breakfast every day, such as whole omega-3 eggs, a soy protein shake, or nut butters
Eat something every 4 hours to keep your insulin and glucose levels normal
Eat small protein snacks in the morning and afternoon, such as a handful of almonds
Finish eating at least 2 to 3 hours before bed. If you have a snack earlier in the day, you won’t be as hungry, even if you eat a little later

Meal Composition

=>Controlling the glycemic load of your meals is very important
You can do this by combining adequate protein, fats, and whole-food carbohydrates from vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, and fruit at every meal or snack
It is most important to avoid eating quickly absorbed carbohydrates alone, as they raise your sugar and insulin levels

Travel Suggestions

=>Two handfuls of almonds in a zip-lock bag make a useful emergency snack. You can eat them with a piece of fruit. Remember, real food is the best.
Choose from a variety of the following real, whole foods:

=>Choose organic produce and animal products whenever possible.

=>Eat high-quality protein, such as fish -- especially fatty, cold-water fish like salmon, sable, small halibut, herring, and sardines -- and shellfish.
Cold-water fish such as salmon, halibut, and sable contain an abundance of beneficial essential fatty acids, omega-3 oils that reduce inflammation. Smaller wild Alaskan salmon, sable, and halibut that are low in toxins. Canned wild salmon is a great “emergency” food.
Eat up to eight [omega-3] eggs a week.

=>Create meals that are high in low-glycemic legumes such as lentils, chickpeas These foods slow the release of sugars into the bloodstream, which helps prevent the excess insulin release that can lead to health concerns like obesity, high blood pressure, and heart problems.

=>Eat a cornucopia of fresh fruits and vegetables teeming with phytonutrients like carotenoids, flavonoids, and polyphenols, which are associated with a lower incidence of nearly all health problems, including obesity and age-related disease.

=>Eat more low-glycemic vegetables, such as asparagus, broccoli, kale, spinach, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts.

=>Berries, cherries, peaches, plums, rhubarb, pears, and apples are optimal fruits. Cantaloupes and other melons, grapes, and kiwifruit are suitable; however, they contain more sugar. You can use organic frozen berries (such as those from Cascadian Farms) in your protein shakes.

=>Focus on anti-inflammatory foods, including wild fish and other sources of omega-3 fats, red and purple berries (these are rich in polyphenols), dark green leafy vegetables, orange sweet potatoes, and nuts.

=>Eat more antioxidant-rich foods, including orange and yellow vegetables, dark green leafy vegetables (kale, collards, spinach, etc.), anthocyanidins (berries, beets, grapes, pomegranate), purple grapes, blueberries, bilberries, cranberries, and cherries. In fact, antioxidants are in all colorful fruits and vegetables.

=>Include detoxifying foods in your diet, such as cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, kale, collards, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, bok choy, Chinese cabbage, and Chinese broccoli), green tea, watercress, dandelion greens, cilantro, artichokes, garlic, citrus peels, pomegranate, and even cocoa.

=>Season your food with herbs such as rosemary, ginger, and turmeric, which are powerful antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and detoxifiers.
Avoid excessive quantities of meat.

=>Eat lean organic or grass-fed animal products, when possible. These include eggs, beef, chicken, pork, lamb, buffalo, and ostrich.

I even was able to buy Buffalo meat at Safeway for a while. I'm hoping to raise my own chickens in the near future.

This source claimed that eating soybean products is good for you but I must demur here. see Soy; healthfood or hazard?

I personally have found I'm also sensitive to grains so I've eliminated them from my diet. Dr. Hyman recommends eating rye as it will help normalize Insulin resistance, but I ate two slices of rye toast for breakfast for years without much help, but it might be a good thing for someone else....I am on a very lo-carb diet anyway so I'm not eating any bread.

THE GOOD NEWS- You don't have to give up fat, yes, you heard it right, the scientists have it all wrong, well no trans fats for sure, but the saturated and polyunsaturated fats are realy good for you, remember the Essential fatty acids? We do need lots of it[did you know our brains are made up of mostly fat?]. Truly I kid you not. BUT eliminate all those vegetable oils they say are good for you, they are not. I use only coconut oil, and if I want a salad olive oil for dressing, [I never heat up any oil except for coconut oil], all others become toxic when heated.

I continue to take the following which are really helping me to heal:
CellPower™ to cover the basics, also
FLAX SEED OIL for my colon, but of course
~Glutathione-the master antioxidant is a great helper to counteract many diabetic complications.
~4 essential minerals for diabetics
~SELENIUMhelps immune system,fights infection and aids circulation
~MAGNESIUMhelps to relax you, aids stress and muscle relaxing
~CHROMIUMimproves insulin sensitivity, and helps lower blood sugar.
~ZINC especially to help you heal.
~coconut oil

for the Omega-3~6 balance and losing weight.

Also I really have to give you one little miracle I know to be true: Cinnamon, but it needs to be pure and at least a teaspoon per meal to do any good. It really lowers my blood glucose levels. OH AND SO DOES CELERY, EAT LOTS OF CELERY!

GOD LIVES UNDER THE BED

I envy Kevin. My brother Kevin thinks God lives under his bed. At least that's what I heard him say one night.
He was praying out loud in his dark bedroom, and I stopped to listen, "Are you there, God?" he said. "Where are you? Oh, I see. Under the bed..."
I giggled softly and tiptoed off to my own room. Kevin's unique perspectives are often a source of amusement. But that night something else lingered long after the humor. I realized for the first time the very different world Kevin lives in.
He was born 30 years ago, mentally disabled as a result of difficulties during labor. Apart from his size (he's 6-foot-2); there are few ways in which he is an adult.
He reasons and communicates with the capabilities of a 7-year-old, and he always will. He will probably always believe that God lives under his bed, that Santa Claus is the one who fills the space under our tree every Christmas and that airplanes stay up in the sky because angels carry them.
I remember wondering if Kevin realizes he is different. Is he ever dissatisfied with his monotonous life?
Up before dawn each day, off to work at a workshop for the disabled, home to walk our cocker spaniel, return to eat his favorite macaroni and cheese for dinner, and later to bed.
The only variation in the entire scheme is laundry, when he hovers excitedly over the washing machine like a mother with her newborn child.
He does not seem dissatisfied.
He lopes out to the bus every morning at 7:05, eager for a day of simple work.
He wrings his hands excitedly while the water boils on the stove before dinner, and he stays up late twice a week to gather our dirty laundry for his next day's laundry chores.
And Saturdays - oh, the bliss of Saturdays! That's the day my Dad takes Kevin to the airport to have a soft drink, watch the planes land, and speculate loudly on the destination of each passenger inside. "That one's goin' to Chi-car-go!" Kevin shouts as he claps his hands.
His anticipation is so great he can hardly sleep on Friday nights.
And so goes his world of daily rituals and weekend field trips.
He doesn't know what it means to be discontent.
His life is simple.
He will never know the entanglements of wealth of power, and he does not care what brand of clothing he wears or what kind of food he eats. His needs have always been met, and he never worries that one day they may not be.
His hands are diligent. Kevin is never so happy as when he is working. When he unloads the dishwasher or vacuums the carpet, his heart is completely in it.
He does not shrink from a job when it is begun, and he does not leave a job until it is finished. But when his tasks are done, Kevin knows how to relax.
He is not obsessed with his work or the work of others. His heart is pure.
He still believes everyone tells the truth, promises must be kept, and when you are wrong, you apologize instead of argue.
Free from pride and unconcerned with appearances, Kevin is not afraid to cry when he is hurt, angry or sorry. He is always transparent, always sincere. And he trusts God.
Not confined by intellectual reasoning, when he comes to Christ, he comes as a child. Kevin seems to know God - to really be friends with Him in a way that is difficult for an "educated" person to grasp. God seems like his closest companion.
In my moments of doubt and frustrations with my Christianity I envy the security Kevin has in his simple faith.
It is then that I am most willing to admit that he has some divine knowledge that rises above my mortal questions.
It is then I realize that perhaps he is not the one with the handicap. I am. My obligations, my fear, my pride, my circumstances - they all become disabilities when I do not trust them to God's care.
Who knows if Kevin comprehends things I can never learn? After all, he has spent his whole life in that kind of innocence, praying after dark and soaking up the goodness and love of God.
And one day, when the mysteries of heaven are opened, and we are all amazed at how close God really is to our hearts, I'll realize that God heard the simple prayers of a boy who believed that God lived under his bed.
Kevin won't be surprised at all!

CATHOLIC HORSES

One day while he was at the track playing the ponies and all but losing his shirt, Mitch noticed a priest who stepped out onto the track and blessed the forehead of one of the horses lining up for the 4th race.
Lo and behold, that horse - a very long shot - won the race.
Before the next race, as the horses began lining up, Mitch watched with interest the old priest step onto the track. Sure enough, as the 5th race horses came to the starting gate the priest made a blessing on the forehead of one of the horses.
Mitch made a beeline for a betting window and placed a small bet on the horse. Again, even though it was another long shot, the horse the priest had blessed won the race.
Mitch collected his winnings, and anxiously waited to see which horse the priest would bless for the 6th race. The priest again blessed a horse.
Mitch bet big on it, and it won. Mitch was elated. As the races continued the priest kept blessing long shot horses, and each one ended up coming in first.
Bye and bye, Mitch was pulling in some serious money. By the last race, he knew his wildest dreams were going to come true. He made a quick dash to the ATM, withdrew all his savings, and awaited the priest's blessing that
would tell him which horse to bet on.
True to his pattern, the priest stepped onto the track for the last race and blessed the forehead of an old nag that was the longest shot of the day. Mitch also observed the priest blessing the eyes, ears, and hooves of the old nag.
Mitch knew he had a winner and bet every cent he owned on the old nag. He then watched dumbfounded as the old nag come in dead last. Mitch, in a state of shock, made his way down to the track area where the priest was.
Confronting the old priest he demanded, "Father! What happened? All day long you blessed horses and they all won. Then in the last race, the horse you blessed lost by a Kentucky mile. Now, thanks to you I've lost every cent of my savings - all of it!".
The priest nodded wisely and with sympathy. "Son," he said, "that's the problem with you Protestants, you can't tell the difference between a simple blessing and last rites."

Ancient Artifact?

A little boy opened the big and old family Bible with fascination, looking at the old pages as he turned them. Then something fell out of the Bible and he picked up and looked at it closely. It was an old leaf from a tree. The leaf had been pressed in between pages. "Momma, look what I found", the boy called out. "What have you got there, dear?" his mother asked. With astonishment in the young boy's voice he answered: "It's Adam's suit!!!!!"
~~~
A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk
With him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe.
So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school
In the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her.
The neighbor said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.
The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor boy he knew. She did this for the whole week.
As the boys walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally he said to Timmy, "Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week? Do you know her?"
Timmy nonchalantly replied, "Yeah, I know who she is."
The friend said, "Well, who is she?"
"That's just Shirley Goodnest," Timmy replied, "and her daughter Marcy."
" Shirley Goodnest? Who the heck is she and why is she following us? "
"Well," Timmy explained, "every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much. And in the Psalm, it says, ' Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my
Life, so I guess I'll just have to get used to it!"
I wish you a day filled with sunshine and inexplicable joy, a Healthy life and happy family.
VISITING THE DOCTOR, NERVE PAIN
Hey! I had my check up yesterday I got to keep my blood test results, I'm so getting better. While I'm not perfect yet my levels are getting there, my lungs are clear and the high blood pressure? Gone, it's normal now. YAY! My A1C is lower, my glucose is lower, my cholesterol is lower, I'm happy and getting well. When the doc asked me how I was [why do they do that? I don't go there because I'm healthy for gooness sake]I was able to smile broadly and sure her I felt great! I'm known among the people I see regularly as a Sunny, happy person.... This from someone who use to be sick all the time, depressed so bad I could hardly stop crying, for decades. I have to credit CellPower™ cellpower~natural cures,natural alternative medicine,body rescue alkalizing,most alkalizing,alkalizing drops,body ph health<br />natural healing,cell health,oxygenate,cellpower,detoxify more than anything else. sure dieting and exercising gave me a good start but my vigorous healthy, more energetic, happier self started with the CellPower™.
I also continue to take Essential fatty acids,FLAX SEED OIL
to help lose weight.
In addition I also take
~4 essential minerals for diabetics
~MAGNESIUMhelps to relax you, aids stress and muscle relaxing
~CHROMIUMimproves insulin sensitivity, and helps lower blood sugar.
~ZINC especially to help you heal.
and Conjugated Linoleic Acid* to counteract the effects of alloxan I might get by accident, I don't eat bread much less white flour but you never know.
see:alloxan causes diabetes
I am experiencing nerve pain even with my diabetes under strict control. Of course the medicos want you to take medications for it,
(1)
"Anti-seizure drugs often are used to help control the type of pain caused by damaged nerves.
Anti-seizure (anticonvulsant) medications were developed primarily to reduce or control epileptic seizures. But they can also help control the burning, stabbing or shooting pain sometimes caused by nerve damage. These drugs seem to work by slowing or blocking pain signals from damaged nerves.
Why does it hurt?
Nerves can be damaged by many things, including injury, surgery, disease or exposure to toxins. For example, some people with diabetes develop numbness and pain (peripheral neuropathy) in their hands and feet. People who have shingles often continue to have pain (postherpetic neuralgia) after the shingles have cleared up.
This pain occurs because the damaged nerves are firing inappropriately and sending pain signals even though no tissue has been harmed. This type of pain can be debilitating and is often difficult to control."
Personally,I've had these pains for much longer than I've had diabetes.
(2)
"~Controlling your blood sugar levels can help prevent worsening nerve pain and improve your overall health at the same time.
~Medications can help relieve nerve pain, make you more comfortable, and improve your quality of life.
"We know that better glucose control is the single most important factor" in preventing neuropathy, slowing its progress once you have it, and relieving many symptoms, says Christopher Gibbons, MD, director of the Neuropathy Clinic at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston and instructor of neurology at Harvard Medical School.
If you have diabetes and peripheral neuropathy, talk to your doctor about ways to better control your blood sugar. You may need to take insulin for better control, says Gibbons.
Once you are doing all that you can to keep blood sugar levels under control - including diet, meal planning, exercise, and medication - you should assess with your doctor which pain medication is best to relieve your remaining symptoms."
Since I refuse to take drugs what to do, what to do? The diabetic socks I have are too long, [I have very short toes, so if the socks fit they are too long]and they curl under my toes and HURT!
I find this really helps Get more info on RealHeal to relieve pain and promote faster healing after surgery or injury
MSG AND DIABETES
(1)
MSG and type 2 diabetes
Your article “Type 2 diabetes appearing in youths” (SN: 7/10/99, p. 31) is of special interest
to me. I saw no type 2 diabetes in young people when I started medical practice in the early
’60s. By the time I had retired in 1995, such patients were not uncommon in my practice. I
believe monosodium glutamate (MSG) is the cause. MSG is an excitotoxin that works by overstimulating
its nerve target. When MSG is fed to baby rats for the first 9 days of their lives and
then discontinued, the MSG destroys the arcuate nucleus of the pituitary gland. For the rest of
the life of the rat, it will be obese, hypothyroid, and lethargic when compared with controls not
given MSG. Remember, MSG was released on the market in 1948. Just read your food labels.
Ian D. Murphy
Toledo, Ohio
This was written by a Doctor for a medical Journal but is not readily available to the public, Why?
Way too many food manufacturers are making money off of this stuff, who cares if it directly impacts the health of millions of people. They seek the thrill of great tastes and this is the result.
Why doesn't the FDA warn us? Why indeed.
Here's more:
(2)
...Scientists were creating obese mice and rats to use in diet or diabetes test studies.
No strain of rat or mice is naturally obese, so the scientists have to create them. They make these morbidly obese creatures by injecting them with a chemical when they are first born. The MSG triples the amount of insulin the pancreas creates, causing rats (and humans?) to become obese They even have a title for the race of fat rodents they create: "MSG-Treated Rats"
Did you see that? No strain of mice is naturally obese but they make them fat by using MSG.
My strongest advice is to go through your cupboards and yes, your spice drawer and throw away everything with any MSG in it look for anything with the following names because MSG hides under other aliases:
Monosodium Glutamate
Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein Hydrolyzed Protein
Hydrolyzed Plant Extract
Plant Protein Extract
Sodium Caseinate
Yeast Extract
Texturized Protein
Autolyzed Yeast
Hydrolyzed Oat Flour
Calcium Caseinate
Additives that Frequently Contain MSG:
Malt Extract
Bouillon
Stock
Natural Flavoring Seasonings
Malt Flavoring
Broth Flavoring
Natural Beef or Chicken Flavoring
Spices
I found it in my favorite low salt seasoning: Lemon Pepper, sigh, I guess I'll just have to just use my own seasoning instead: Katy's essence another advantage of summer.
Recommended reading The slow poisoning of America, by John E. Erb and T. Michelle Erb.
The three best things you can do for yourself are:
-Eat lots of fresh, uncooked vegetables and fruits for all their enzymatic goodness on the allkalizing foods list
-do NOT eat anything with MSG in it and
-Take CellPower™ to accelerate the healing process.
I find that since I've been taking CellPower™ I am getting well from so many problems I've had.
And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry"
HOW DOES THE IMMUNE SYSTEM WORK?
Stresses to the immune system are:
-Mechanical damage- breaking a bone, tearing a ligament, getting a wound in the skin or other physical shocks to the body cause the immune system to kick in and begin the healing process.
-Diseases- caused by external agents, double 0 virus, fungus-amongus, and nasty buggies call Bac T. Eria [ok bacteria]
-vitamin deficiency- If you are deficient in vitamin D you will not be able to metabolize calcium properly and will get rickets causing weakened bones that break easily or become deformed, if you are deficient in Vitamin C you get scurvy, swollen bleeding gums, swollen joints, and bruising. A lack of Iron can cause anemia, and so on.
-organ degradation- an internal organ can become ‘sick’ either from environmental causes or damage from cumulative excesses.
-Genetic diseases- a coding error in the DNA can cause certain proteins to secrete too much or too little, causing problems at the cellular level; another strain on the immune system.
-Cancer- cells gone wrong and a nice little mess we’ve gotten ourselves into eh IS [immune system]?
The skin is our first line of defense to keep us healthy. The skin secretes an antibacterial substance that keeps most bacteria, spores and molds from growing on your skin; A good reason to keep your skin healthy.
The eyes, nose and mouth are obvious points of entry for pathogens but an enzyme called lysozyme in tears and mucus breaks down the cell walls of bacteria. Saliva is also anti-bacterial. Since the nasal passage and lungs are coated in mucus, many germs not killed immediately are trapped in the mucus and soon swallowed. Mast cells also line the nasal passages, throat, lungs and skin. Any bacteria or virus that wants to gain entry to your body must first make it past these defenses
However, once inside the body a germ has to deal with a whole different kind of immune system response. There is must deal with such factors as:
· Thymus
· Spleen
· Lymph system
· Bone marrow
· White blood cells
· Antibodies
· Complement system
· Hormones
If any of those are not working then the IS won’t be able to function to heal your body. Diseases like Candidiasis can so overload the individual organ functions that they can no longer fight off any opportunistic infection or basic weakness your body might have.
This is such a complicated topic that it’s difficult to simplify it, but this is the basic premise.
Our innards like an alkaline pH, but the skin likes it acid.
Steven Spielberg was discussing his new project - an action docudrama about famous composers starring top movie stars. Sylvester Stallone, Steven Segall, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger were all present. Spielberg strongly desired the box office 'oomph' of these superstars, so he was prepared to allow them to select whatever composers they wished to portray, as long as they were famous.
"Well," started Stallone, "I've always admired Mozart. I would love to play him."
"Chopin has always been my favorite, and my image would improve if people saw me playing the piano," replied Willis. "I'll play him."
"I've always been partial to Strauss and his waltzes," said Segall. "I'd like to play him."
Spielberg was very pleased with these choices. "Sounds splendid." Then, turning to Schwarzenegger, he asked, "Who do you want to be, Arnold?" Arnold in a slow deliberate voice replied, "I'll be Bach."
A local monastery was going bankrupt. The abbot didn't know what to do. The brothers had a meeting, and decided to open a great Olde English Fish-N'-Chips stand. One day, a man knocked on the door. After one of the brothers answered the door, the man asked, "May I have just an order of fries?"
The brother said, "Hold on a moment. I'm the fish friar. You want the chip monk."
Have a great day, may you be always blessed and your wallet always full, May you find fresh pasture and cool shade. Be blessed my friends!
