TIPS, TRICKS AND MY PROGRESS

First I have a tip.

<>My grandmother [from my adoptive family] was always a beautiful woman and she outlived five husbands marrying her last one in her 70's when she was still beautiful, unlined, and vital. When I was a little girl she said one of her secrets was that she never washed her face with soap. I quit using any soap on my face at about 35 and folks have always said I look much younger than others my age, in fact all my life I've been told I look younger than I 'claim to be'. Hahahaha. I've never avoided the sun I always forget the sunscreen too, but I do avoid anything with alcohol in it [face creams often contain alcohol in some form], read the labels.

<>And a little Almond oil on the tops of your cheeks will brighten the look of your eyes, and make you seem more rested.

<>brush some dark eyeshadow on your brows for a much more natural line than you can possibly ever get with liner, and brush your lower lashes with that same stiff bristled brush loades with dark eye-shadow for a wide-eyed look that will take the eye away from any sags and bags you have, and never ever use make-up liquid or powder, under your eyes[ if you have any bags or wrinkles there; it will gather in the creases and give you a haggard look.

My progress:

I have been taking cellpower for a few months now, my blood glucose levels have stayed very low and even if I cheat on my diet. I test my pH every so often and while it's not completely 'normal' that is 7.25 all the time, it stays close to that. When it's 7.25 every morning for a week I'll know I've reached my goal.

As I said yesterday I've lost another 2 pounds, I woke up yesterday feeling so light and thin, I'm not either one, but you know how some days you wake up feeling like a watermelon on legs? I didn't feel bloated or thick, just felt great! I weighed myself and sure enough, 2 pounds were just gone, and I wasn't about to go lookin' around to find them either!

Trick: recipe....
I add gobs of cinnamon to my oatmeal each morning. I make a batch of oatmeal to last 3 days, save 2/3rds of it and reheat it in my convection oven.

3 C. water on to boil, add a sprinkle of sea salt
3 scoops of 1/8 cup each of oatbran
3 scoops of 1/2 C of oatmeal and whisk it smooth, turn heat off
when it's still kind of liquid I add
3 Tablespoons of cinnamon
1 large apple chopped into bite-sized chunks
mix all this together the oatmeal will thicken.

put on third into a bowl add 1 tsp of coconut oil and two large tablespoons of the best plain yogurt you can buy, and eat. The next two days take 1/2 of the leftovers and chop it up so it's not a mound, heat in the bowl in a convection oven at 425 for 20 minutes, add coconut oil, any fresh fruits I might have and yogurt, and eat!

Oatmeal may be acidic and full of carbs but I need the fiber and it's not so processed that it's not food. It works for me and my glucose levels are low and I'm losing weight. Because of the IBS I need to adjust the low carb diet to include a few carbs and sugars-Apples.

Apples by the way have recently been proven to be the health food your grandmother and great grandmothers always said they were. In addition to the pectin [fiber] in it:

This source also notes that one really should eat 1 apple per day to get these benefits, people generally eat one per week.

Many years ago a friend of mine called Joe worked in the coal mines. He would go to work early in the morning, go down the mine to the coal face and do his eight hour stint, then come back to the surface to get ready to come home. He followed this daily routine faithfully for years on end, down the mine in the morning and up at the end of his shift. Down then up, down then up. One day whilst he was at the coal face he swung his pick ax and the point went deep into a rock. He eventually managed to remove the pick ax from the rock, and as he did so he was engulfed in a deluge of water. He was absolutely drenched by the water, and his work mates remarked that he looked about 10 years younger since the water had covered him. They all tried to get soaked, and those that managed did indeed look 10 years younger. He, and those of his friends who had managed to get covered by the water, were thankful but they couldn't stop wondering why they had only been made to look 10 years younger. Why hadn't they been made to look 20 or 25 years younger than they really were?
It must be obvious that it was only a miner miracle.


I, too, once had a friend, Joe, who worked in the coal mines. Unfortunately, he was killed in a freak accident when some movers lost their grip on a grand piano they were transporting; the piano fell down the mine shaft and crushed Joe to death. A local composer wrote an orchestral piece in memory of Joe:

MORE ON THE IMMUNE SYSTEM PLUS GOOD NEWS!.....

MY VERSION OF EXERCISE

We have a lilac that started out having it's own zipcode. I cut it down and placed pavers around it telling it thus far you may go and no farther, Did it listen? NO! There were suckers coming up all over my yard, the bush itself threatened to overtake our front yard, so I cut it down to the earth,and am digging it out then I'll pour salt on it to complete the removal. I fear to have it yanked out of the ground using a truck and a chain or there will be tsunamis all along the eastern coast of Mainland China.

In Ohio, an unidentified man in his late twenties walked into a police station with a 9-inch wire protruding from his forehead and calmly asked officers to give him an X-ray to help him find his brain, which he claimed had been stolen. Police were shocked to learn that the man had drilled a 6-inch deep hole in his skull with a Black & Decker power drill and had stuck the wire in to try and find the missing brain.

More than 600 people in Italy wanted to ride in a spaceship badly enough to pay $10,000 a piece for the first tourist flight to Mars. According to the Italian police, the would-be space travelers were told to spend their next vacation on Mars, amid the splendors of ruined temples and painted deserts. Police in Los Angeles had good luck with a robbery suspect who just couldn't control himself during a lineup. When detectives asked each man in the lineup to repeat the words, "Give me all your money or I'll shoot," the man shouted, "That's not what I said!"

A bank robber in Virginia Beach got a nasty surprise when a dye pack designed to mark stolen money exploded in his Fruit-of-the-Looms. In Modesto, CA, Steven Richard King was arrested for trying to hold up a Bank of America branch without a weapon. King used a thumb and a finger to simulate a gun, but unfortunately, he failed to keep his hand in his pocket. Hmmm...wonder what he uses for a knife?

KEEPING A HEALING MINDSET

Way back on June 1st, I wrote about a healing mindset Can you believe I've written 100 entries? Whodda thunk I had that much stick-toitiveness?. That's what I wanted to talk about today.

When anyone starts a campaign of self-improvement there will be folks out there for their own reasons who want to sabotage it. My husband offers pizza for dinner and ice cream, sigh. But your friends, who like the status quo[if you get healthier they have no excuse to stay fat and flabby/sick] will find ways to tempt you off the path.

Then there are the enemies who will, out of jealousy and spite as agents of satan will question your motives and try to cause you to fail [mostly for the same reasons as your friends, it keeps them from the 'I'm sick' excuse, and just because they didn't think of it first]. Some people are just so unhappy with themselves that putting others down, in some weird way, makes them feel better about themselves.
some take all of our actions and place their own ugly motivations and project them on us.

I knew a guy like that on a language board I used to visit. He just lived in such an nasty stew he couldn't take any one else at face-value but had to project his own foul thoughts on others. I know there's that concept in the Bible, something like "Evil people see everything as evil", but I couldn't exactly find it.

Everyone I knew was a discourager.

I have a favorite song I sing as I water my garden or sew or just putter 'round the house-it's called "THE SUNNY SIDE OF THE STREET":

Only I tend to forget the words and it comes out "Direct my feet to the sunnyside of the street, Let a smile be my umbrella, I'm rich as Rockafellah....
not very tuneful, I whistle the rest.

Not long ago, Like at the beginning of this year, I woke up from a very poor sleep, every night, sick and miserable, I couldn't focus for hours, my hair was falling out, I was severely constipated, my teeth were crumbling, my breath was awful, I hated myself, I was dying, and didn't much care. What did I have to live for? I hurt ALL the time, my blood pressure and glucose fluctuated wildly, I had no energy, I was bored, horribly fat; way to fat to tie my own shoes, and it was the end, so what...

I started this diet and reversing diabetes out of spite, because I was told I couldn't make a difference[more discouragement]. In this last 7 months I've turned my life completely around, I have a much better outlook on life and I'm feeling great.

That's another thing, and probably the main thing, In order to make a change in our lives, we need to have a real resolve, we can't just be sick and tired but a goad that says, "I've had enough, and I'm not taking it anymore." Whether it's rock bottom, or some outside influence that tells us, Hey it's time to quit smoking, or it's time to lose weight...it's time to take control!

As to hitting rock bottom being the start of change, frankly I think it's less of a good reason than someone just wanting it so badly they can follow through when the times get tough.

I had no will power,I was hungry a lot, I hurt from exercising, I wanted to quit, but as the pounds slipped off and my blood glucose levels dropped, I found a new reason to keep on keeping on. With weight loss came energy and the ability to sleep again, I lost several sizes too, and I looked better, so should I stop now? NO!

But I gotta tell you chocolate is really satisfying and I have a hard time resisting that temptation, especially when after eating I'm still very hungry.

I'm taking CellPower™ because it is really topping off what I started, I'm getting better more rapidly. And of course coconut oil
. I didn't have any for a few weeks due to a back-order problem, and I even put back a few pounds, but I'm back on track now, I can really feel the difference.

KEEPING A HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM

Our bodies require adequate oxygen , they are not designed to thrive on low oxygen levels. 6%
or less oxygen in the atmosphere causes asphyxiation. We simply cannot live without oxygen,

~~~ I have something I wanted to share with you today, I managed to capture a picture of a hummingbird moth in my yard. I'd read about them in my garden magazines and sure enough there it was, about an inch long, wings so fast that you cannot see them and a curly proboscis to suck the juices out of my plants.

I'll post some more garden pictures when I can mow, we've had a two month drought and I can mow until the grass greens up and needs mowing. Well parts are really tall but much is burned brown. We should be getting some rain this week and after that I can mow!

I was so desperate for some garden exercise today that I started digging up the dreaded lilac in our front yard, it's so entrenched the roots go down to China, and it's really a chore getting it out!

HOW DOES THE IMMUNE SYSTEM WORK?

Stresses to the immune system are:

-Mechanical damage- breaking a bone, tearing a ligament, getting a wound in the skin or other physical shocks to the body cause the immune system to kick in and begin the healing process.

-Diseases- caused by external agents, double 0 virus, fungus-amongus, and nasty buggies call Bac T. Eria [ok bacteria]

-vitamin deficiency- If you are deficient in vitamin D you will not be able to metabolize calcium properly and will get rickets causing weakened bones that break easily or become deformed, if you are deficient in Vitamin C you get scurvy, swollen bleeding gums, swollen joints, and bruising. A lack of Iron can cause anemia, and so on.

-organ degradation- an internal organ can become ‘sick’ either from environmental causes or damage from cumulative excesses.

-Genetic diseases- a coding error in the DNA can cause certain proteins to secrete too much or too little, causing problems at the cellular level; another strain on the immune system.

-Cancer- cells gone wrong and a nice little mess we’ve gotten ourselves into eh IS [immune system]?

The skin is our first line of defense to keep us healthy. The skin secretes an antibacterial substance that keeps most bacteria, spores and molds from growing on your skin; A good reason to keep your skin healthy.

The eyes, nose and mouth are obvious points of entry for pathogens but an enzyme called lysozyme in tears and mucus breaks down the cell walls of bacteria. Saliva is also anti-bacterial. Since the nasal passage and lungs are coated in mucus, many germs not killed immediately are trapped in the mucus and soon swallowed. Mast cells also line the nasal passages, throat, lungs and skin. Any bacteria or virus that wants to gain entry to your body must first make it past these defenses

Stress and the immune system.

In the short term stress tends to raise the immune system. When we are confronted with a physical challenge like a bite, or puncture, scrapes, wounds or infections resulting; the body readies itself with the "fight or flight" response, readying itself to meet these problems.

Chronic, long-term stress suppresses the immune system. The longer the stress, the more the immune system shifted from they adaptive changes seen in the "fight or flight" response to more negative changes, first at the cellular level and later in broader immune function. The most chronic stressors – stress that seems beyond a person's control or seems endless – resulted in the most global suppression of immunity. Almost all measures of immune system function dropped across the board.


And as we've seen before stresses affect blood sugar levels and causes the blood pressure to rise. Severe and continued adrenaline responses will cause the body to be so depleted that it cannot respond to any opportunistic diseases like colds and flues, and yes, even cancers to develop.

The Elderly and sick are even more susceptible to stress-related diseases.

-Acute time-limited stressors: lab challenges such as public speaking or mental math.

-Brief naturalistic stressors: real-world challenges such as academic tests.

-Stressful event sequences: a focal event such as loss of a spouse or major natural disaster gives rise to a series of related challenges that people know at some point will end.

-Chronic stressors: pervasive demands that force people to restructure their identity or social roles, without any clear end point – such as injury resulting in permanent disability, caring for a spouse with severe dementia, or being a refugee forced from one's native country by war.

-Distant stressors: traumatic experiences that occurred in the distant past yet can continue modifying the immune system because of their long-lasting emotional and cognitive consequences, such as child abuse, combat trauma or having been a prisoner of war. Much of their analysis goes on to review the similarities and differences among the 293 studies that they examined. These studies included a total of 18,941 subjects. "Stressful event sequences" appeared to be weakly associated with different immune consequences, depending on the type of event. There appeared to be different patterns for grief than for trauma...


A person involved in an extremely stressful life will be much more prone to catastrophic dis-eases.

Oxidative stress, an imbalance of the atoms of oxygen at the cellular level will decrease the pH of the body and cause dis-eases. Do you REALLY need email??

No Email?????? ........... An unemployed man is desperate to support his family of a wife and three kids. He applies for a janitor's job at a large firm and easily passes an aptitude test.

The human resources manager tells him, "You will be hired at minimum wage of $5.35 an hour. Let me have your e-mail address so that we can get you in the loop. Our system will automatically e-mail you all the forms and advise you when to start and where to report on your first day."

Taken back, the man protests that he is poor and has neither a Computer nor an e-mail address. To this the manager replies, "You must understand that to a company like ours that means that you virtually do not exist. The tomato company's payroll has put hundreds of homeless and jobless people to work. His daughter reports that the business grossed a million dollars.

Planning for the future, he decides to buy some life insurance. Consulting with an insurance adviser, he picks an insurance plan to fit his new circumstances. Then the adviser asks him for his e-mail address in order to send the final documents electronically.

When the man replies that he doesn't have time to mess with a computer and has no e-mail address, the insurance man is stunned, "What, you don't have e-mail? No computer! No Internet! Just think where you would be today if you'd had all of that five years ago!"

The Love of Sharing Equally

A young man saw an elderly couple sitting down to lunch at McDonald's. He noticed that they had ordered one meal, and an extra drink cup. As he watched, the gentleman carefully divided the hamburger in half, then counted out the fries, one for him, one for her, until each had half of them. Then he poured half of the soft drink into the extra cup and set that in front of his wife. The old man then began to eat, and his wife sat watching, with her hands folded in her lap. The young man decided to ask if they would allow him to purchase another meal for them so that they didn't have to split theirs. The old gentleman said, "Oh no. We've been married 50 years, and everything has always been and will always be shared, 50/50." The young man then asked the wife if she was going to eat, and she replied, "Not yet. It's his turn with the teeth."

FLAVONOIDS

Flavonoids are in many fruits and vegetables, manifesting mostly in yellow or red/blue pigmentation.

Good sources of flavonoids Fruit: Lemons, Grapefruit, Oranges, Limes, Grapes, Cherries, Plums, Peaches, Apricots, Apples, Berries,Vegetables: Green Peppers, Yellow Peppers, Tomatoes, Onions, Broccoli, Parsley, Whole Grains: Buckwheat, Other: Bee Propolis, Green Tea, Black Tea, Peppermint, and dark chocolate (that with a cocoa content of seventy percent or greater). Well that's good news!

Flavonoids are known as "nature's biological response modifiers" because of strong evidence of their ability to modify the body's reaction to allergens, viruses, and carcinogens. They have,apparently; anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-cancer activity.

Consumers and food manufacturers have become interested in flavonoids for their medicinal properties, especially in the prevention of cancers and cardiovascular disease. The beneficial effects of fruit, vegetables, and tea or even red wine have been attributed to flavonoid compounds rather than to known nutrients and vitamins.

Dr. Perricone in his book The Perricone Promise says that the more colorful the vegetation the better it is for you. By vegetation I mean recognizable food source, in plant form.

The study was conducted in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and focused on the 22 flavonoids found naturally in orange and tangerine juice.

Dr. Najla Guthrie, president of the research company, said the results are "very encouraging" that these compounds could be effective against lung cancer, prostate cancer and melanoma cells. The study also found that synthetically produced flavonoids effectively inhibited the growth of colon cancer cells.

Previous research conducted by Guthrie indicated that components found in citrus juices were shown to reduce the growth of human breast cancer cells in laboratory tests.

Dr.David Ringer of the American Cancer Society said the findings "further reinforce that flavonoids are an important class of chemo-protective compounds which are beneficial in lowering the risk for certain cancers and cardiovascular disease."

Unfortunately, he was killed in a freak accident when some movers lost their grip on a grand piano they were transporting; the piano fell down the mine shaft and crushed Joe to death. A local composer wrote an orchestral piece in memory of Joe:
It was called "Symphony in A Flat Miner."

Luke and Obi-Wan are in a Chinese restaurant having a meal. Skillfully using his chopsticks, Obi-Wan deftly dishes himself a large portion of noodles into his bowl, then tops it off with some chicken and cashew nuts. All this is done with consummate ease you'd expect from a Jedi Master. Anyway, poor old Luke is having a nightmare, using his chopsticks in both hands, dropping his food all over the table and eventually himself.
